Dick Allen
Tribune reporting Sox could make their final cuts today, and said Hall was called into the office after the big organizational meeting, but he was back to pre-game practice shortly afterward. Maybe a DL stint?
EvilJester99
Possibly an extended ST and a DL stint...I sure hope thats the case because he has been awful.

iamshack
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 12:16 PM) How'd he do? He was 0-3...I thought he hit a homer in his first at bat for a second, as I was laying in bed listening to the game, stupid Gary Thorne yells out "And this one's hit a millllleeeee.......high into right for the third out of the inning." I think the DL is more likely, with Phillips taking the slot. I would have thought Lucy would get it, but Phillips has been getting a lot of playing time this spring, and he looks decent. iamshack
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Tuesday at Colorado Tuesday, March 25, 2008 Today's Lineup Ramirez, CF; Cabrera, SS; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Fields, 3B; Quentin, LF; Uribe, 2B; Buehrle, pitching. Also throwing: Logan, Dotel, Jenks, MacDougal. Meeting As you probably read in the newspapers, our staff meeting started early today. As clubs near the end of spring, conversations about players, roster fits, etc. take longer and longer as KW, Rick Hahn and our coaching staff review all of our options. It's really beginning to frighten me that they just keep throwing Ramirez out there in CF...
AWhiteSoxinNJ
How about him for a 5th starter? Claudio Vargas-S-Brewers Mar. 25 - 2:44 pm et Brewers released RHP Claudio Vargas. Bizarre. Vargas entered spring training looking like a long shot to win a spot in the Milwaukee rotation, but he had a 3.86 ERA in his five starts and it had seemed to be a given that he'd be in the rotation with both Yovani Gallardo and Chris Capuano out. At the very least, the Brewers figured to be able to trade him thanks to his strong spring. His $3.6 million salary proved to be too much of a hindrance apparently. Expect the Astros, Mets and others to pursue him once he clears waivers. Both Carlos Villanueva and Manny Parra will have rotation spots now. southsidehawkeye
QUOTE(iamshack @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 12:49 PM) It's really beginning to frighten me that they just keep throwing Ramirez out there in CF... I wouldn't be all that worried... I would assume they're just getting him as much practice out there as possible before the games start to actually count. Being a UTL player (I'm assuming that will be his role on the team at this point) we will probably see Ramirez in the OF at some point during the season, whether it be to give some needed days off to the other regular OF'ers or because of an injury. Plus, its a way to get him more ABs, and in my opinion... the more he gets in spring the better.
daa84
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 03:51 PM) Well the score just announced that Josh Fields has been sent down to AAA. ive been holding off for a while because i thought the white sox were just posturing and i really thought there was no way fields was going to be in AAA....but this move is so stupid on many levels Ive made my feelings clear on here before that i think josh fields right now is as good if not better offensively than joe crede. KW has really f***ed this thing up in my opinion...between the uribe situation, and the fact that we have a 24 year old who hit 23 HR in 100 games last year as a rookie back in AAA is simply infuriating....I really want to give KW the benefit of the doubt, and ive held off from blasting him becuase i really thought fields would be the 3b opening day but this just makes me really mad. if the sox were sincere about playing crede at 3rd why in gods name was fields not playing left all spring? im sure poeple will reply with some sort of comment about stunting his growth at 3b, but wtf...id rather stunt his defensive growth at 3rd than march jerry owens out there everyday can a mod move this to the other thread please...thanks Edited March 25, 2008 by daa84
