Uhhmm...probably because he's the best third baseman on our team. I'll love how everyone just drags Crede's name through the mud a year after he hit 30HR and 90RBI's.

Trade Josh Fields.

This isn't 2006 anymore. Crede is clearly not the same player, watch a little ST and you'll see a s***ty baseball player. Crede will struggle to hit .250, 20 HRs and 60 RBIs this year. Fields meanwhile would hit all those numbers probably and walk more. Crede's injured back has hurt him badly. Fields is the player that gives the team a better chance to win.

i pray that we never see uribe and ramirez playing the infield together. they're awful at the same time.

Uribe is not anything like awful - he's not as good as he was, but he's still pretty darn good. Ramirez is raw though, I'll give you that.

Joe Crede has no intention on re-signing with the White Sox. KW has said so much.

I doubt JC reups with the Sox, but KW says a lot of random shizzit with hidden intentions. For all we know, Joe is not ready to go full speed and KW is forcing his hand on an extension. If Joe fails to impress, his market value could go down considerably. Otherwise, if he looks good, his trade value goes up and KW gains certainty he could not resign him. All this is very doubtful speculation, but I do not trust anything KW says on record.

What are Crede's numbers this spring, again? And how'd he do last year? And how'd he do in each full season previous to 2006?

Below 0?

Yes, He would effectively have to pay some team to let him play.

In all seriousness, right now he is a mystery who could still get a decent extension from the Sox but not much interest from the rest of the league considering his back and agent. However, if the Sox run him out there every day and he fails to produce, his value would be even worse than it is now, if that is believable. I am surprised Boras and the Sox have not talked about a 2-3 year deal that would keep Crede in Chicago at reasonable money in the short term and allow him to test the market when he hits his peak FA year of 31 years old.

I would bet that Hahn has already done that and has been rebuked. My guess is the Sox will continue to shop Crede...someone will need a 3B by the deadline. And then the Fields era will begin.

i'm just basing it on the play today - although that's not very fair to do. They were awful together today, however.
