Wow. If we could get Owens on the 60 day DL. Have Quentin, better yet, Dye, DH against all lefties, with Quentin in RF, I'd be pretty ecstatic.

But also, wow. We're starting off the season with all of 2 left handed hitters on the team, while last year we occasionally started 4 or 5.

Edited to add, oh yeah, Swisher is a switch hitter, so 3 lefties.

If both Anderson and Quentin are going to make the team, I'd rather for Carlos to start the season in AAA.

He needs AB's, in order to make sure his shoulder is 100% healthy, and then he can come up when he gets hot (which I have absolutely no doubt he will do so, because he has crushed AAA pitching before).

That's unless they make him a starter in LF with Swisher in CF with BA as the 4th OF (which would be the ideal scenario for me).

i actually let out a cheer when i read this... is that bad?

i hope to god this gives BA a chance.

I've always supported Owens and thought he's capable of hitting .300 with 10-15 triples and 30+ doubles. I will say that it's been a bit frustrating hearing Ozzie say he'd even be in the lineup against lefties especially when his D is mediocre and arm is pitiful. Who would've thought BA would produce such a monster spring ? If BA can hit the way he has this spring along with his D that's an all-star caliber presence. Also Quentin seems likely to stay now and lately he's been getting in a groove batting which would be perfect for resting Thome.

This is the start of Brian Anderson, the future Hall of Famer.

My one goal with this current Chicago White Sox team is to party with Brian Anderson at some point. I think it would be fun.

Can I be invited too?

Like someone said before, hate to see it, but this is awesome. This is the only way our team will get better, an injury to Owens.

Now we just need Crede to slip and fall and hurt his back.......

classy.

"My groin isn't where we want it to be," Owens said before undergoing tests.

Don't we all have this problem.

Well, I guess it depends on how you want to interpret the quote. As Jerry stated it, it sounds like his groin might be lodged somewhere between his shoulder blade and his spinal cord.

classy.

I have never claimed to be classy... it's not my style when it comes to baseball.

But I'm sorry, I just want to see the best team on the field at any given time, so we have our best shot at winning. I feel BA provides this chance.
