GreatScott82
why cant Joe Crede and Josh Fields morph into one player. Use Joe's defense, and Josh's offense to create "MR. JOESH FIELDE"

heirdog
If Massett keeps this up for, let's say the first month of the season, do you still trade him because his value is high? It seems intuitive that you keep him around since he may have finally figured it out but what if its an Aardsma type situation where he is lights out for a month and then regresses to his own mean (7 ERA). daa84
masset is throwing a 2 seamer that is moving all over the place....throws 2 to cabrera, then comes back with a cutter at 89 to get.... his stuff has been very good today
GoodAsGould
Just have to hope that the other 7 guys in the lineup can carry Uribe/Crede's slack long enough until both those bums are replaced. Even if it will be a dropoff defensively I really would like to put Alexi at 2B with Anderson in CF.

Balta1701
QUOTE(heirdog @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) If Massett keeps this up for, let's say the first month of the season, do you still trade him because his value is high? It seems intuitive that you keep him around since he may have finally figured it out but what if its an Aardsma type situation where he is lights out for a month and then regresses to his own mean (7 ERA). That depends on 2 things; the rest of the pitching staff, and the guys in the minors. If we keep running into situations where the starter gives us 1-2 innings, then Masset is clearly necessary, especially if he is non-terrible out there. If the pitching staff starts to come together after today, if Floyd and Danks put up a couple solid months, then maybe you consider it. You also sort of need Wass or someone like him to step up in AAA to be ready to take that spot. And it'd be nice to have a good offer for him too. In other words...probably not. GreatScott82
even if we lose today... to Nick Masset. This could have been ugly fast but he has kept us in the game... a nice suprise.. if he can keep this up through out the year we have on hell of a long man. fathom
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Sox SERIOUSLY need to cut their losses with Uribe. The frustrating thing is that there are options available, that will make this team better. Put A-Ram at 2nd, Anderson in CF. If Ozzie still has it out for Anderson, put Swish in CF, Carlos in LF, and Aram at 2nd. Uribe needs to go. I know many of us have questioned it in the past, but I hope Ozzie can put his personal feelings aside and do what's best for the team. With a bad season putting him on the hot seat, I am optimistic Ozzie will. Edited March 31, 2008 by fathom
