Chisoxfn
Jim, I am not familiar enough with him to know how athletic he is or what positions he can play. When the Cubs acquired him he was considered simply a first baseman/left fielder so I doubt he has too much range in center, but the guy must be versatile. Doesn't sound like he'd be that bad of a bench guy to be honest. He could be one of those guys that finally makes it up and can come up wtih some big clutch hits off the bench for a few years. Kind of like how the Yankees pull up some nobodies out of the minors every once in a while that do real good.

Jim Fainter
For several weeks I had been advocating calling up Gload and releasing Rios. The Everett deal kind of took the wind out of those sails, because we made room for Ev by cutting Rios. I'm just not convinced that Gload would not have been a more productive hitter than Everitt, and we wouldn't have to part with two prime prospects. Everett needs some time to prove himself, though.
