G&T
Tigers look like they are about to win finally. Up 6-2 in the 8th. Boston is awful right now.

fathom
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) Yeah and nearly everyone on this board thought the season was going to be over, and even in September the playoffs started to be questioned with Cleveland's surge. Point is we're roughly 5% into the season with 95% left, so it's far from over. In terms of football it's basically like Detroit as lost the first game of the year and the season's over. It's far from other I won't count them out. I still think the Tigers are the team to beat in the AL Central. The Indians don't look better than they were last year, and the Twins won't be very good. The White Sox and Royals will definitely win more games than they did last year.
Buehrle>Wood
The 2008 Tigers are likely not on the 2005 Sox' level regardless of said skids, so that point is probably moot.

WCSox
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) The 2008 Tigers are likely not on the 2005 Sox' level regardless of said skids, so that point is probably moot. If they ever start hitting, they could be the 2000 Sox. But if they even get to the playoffs, their pitching (especially their bullpen) will keep them from advancing. Harry Chappas
Their bullpen has nobody that would most certainly make the Sox bullpen NOBODY! As a matter of fact McDougal or Thorton would be their top set-up candidates. Doug Jones sucks!

HuskyCaucasian
Here is how bad this season s for the Tigers: It was projected that 90 wins could win the central. So, that's a .556 winning percentage. If they lose today, they are 2-10. Winning .556 percent of their remaining gamess they'd only win 85 games this year. To win 90 games, that's have to play the equivalent of a 95 win season. Anyone think this team was going to win 95 games? I doubt it. sox-r-us
The next 28 games (which will be 40 games total) are brutal for the tiggers: Yankees 6 times, Twins 5 times, Jays & Red Sox 4 times each, Rangers & Angels 3 times each, Indians twice and Royals once, AND they have only 2 off days scheduled between now and then. With their BP, it could be ovah by 1/4 season.
RME JICO
QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) The next 28 games (which will be 40 games total) are brutal for the tiggers: Yankees 6 times, Twins 5 times, Jays & Red Sox 4 times each, Rangers & Angels 3 times each, Indians twice and Royals once, AND they have only 2 off days scheduled between now and then. With their BP, it could be ovah by 1/4 season. I wouldn't say it is over, but it will be an almost insurmountable hurdle to overcome. The Yankees were 21-29 after 50 last year and ended up in the playoffs, so anything can happen. Either way it is nice to see them struggling so bad.
