Chris Getz?

I'm wondering the same thing. He should be on Charlotte's roster. They didn't cut him, he's one of their top prospects. And, they didn't trade him either. Excited about opening night, Jason? You still got your tickets?

I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in Birmingham instead of Charlotte.

They need to give both he and Richar full time at-bats. Tough to do if they're both playing second base at Charlotte.

That wouldn't be a bad thing for Getz. If he's tearing it up, move him up midseason.

We should have a good read on our second base situation by then and where Richar fits in the picture.

Unfortunately, Richar is out for at least the next month.

Oh... that's right.

What was I thinking?

On a related note... is Bourgeois expected to be the CF in Charlotte?

Or is it possible they'll use the Richar situation to give him time at second and prep him for a Ozuna-like utility role?

I'm thinking Getz is going to be the full time 2B with Rouse (who I actually liked this spring) being the starting SS. With Anderson up and Owens injured, Bourgeois is probably going to play mainly CF, with probably a little LF, 2B, 3B and perhaps SS thrown in.

So then it becomes what do you do in May when Anderson/Quentin goes down to Charlotte and Richar is healthy? And I doubt Bourgeois will play a ton of 3B in Charlotte until/if (and I can't believe I'm typing 'if') Crede is moved.

It's up to the individual teams to update the rosters on their MiLB.com websites. I remember last year the media relations people for Charlotte were not very helpful at all. They acted annoyed at just the simple question of a jersey number. So, they'll probably wait until game time to update Charlotte's roster.

I think you gotta play Bourgeois due to the fact he is actually becomming a player of interest and someone who can contribute. Once Richar returns, we could probably move Getz to SS. It'd give us a chance to see how he handles the position and IIRC, he was once considered a possible UTL player. Once Anderson/Quentin get sent down for Owens (which is retarded), they'd probably just remove someone like Wise from the lineup.
