mr_genius
McCain is STILL on the Bill Ayers thing. No one cares about Bill Ayers when the stock market is completely tanking. If there wasn't a financial disaster going on, yea go after Obama's buddy Bill Ayers. McCain needs to address this financial madness. McCain needs to address this financial madness. You didnt know Ayers was an economic terrorist?... oh wait... McCain and Palin's buddy was the economic terrorist. Ok, now in all seriousness, agreed. Petty stuff may be applicable in a super tight race to show a differance in judgement, but in probably the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression, I'd like to hear how he's save the economy other than "lower taxes". Cknolls
Support us but do not run against us. Wow. Veteran NBC political commetator Chuck Todd recently revealed a secret about how Senate Democrats view Al Franken: I have had multiple very high level Democrats on the Hill sit there with their fingers crossed. They are scared of Franken winning. More importantly they fear that if Franken wins then every liberal Hollywood type is going to say 'hey I can run for office too...' HuskyCaucasian
Now, to be fair. I know NOTHING about Franken. I try not to follow the far left and right wackjobs. He might actually be a very intelligent guy. I think there are a lot of political commentators and comedians who might actually be very intelligent and capable of being a good politician. But, I'm not exactly willing to open that door.
mr_genius
Barack was never an ACORN community organizer. ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee. Most polls have McCain in the high single digits. I'd be willing to bet the differance between 16 and high single digits is a combination of the anti-Bush environment and the black vote. Texsox
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i4OpiwX...lig0FgD93O3N3G0 McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd On Friday, McCain rejected the bait."I don't trust Obama," a woman said. "I have read about him. He's an Arab." McCain shook his head in disagreement, and said: "No, ma'am. He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with (him) on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about." He had drawn boos with his comment: "I have to tell you, he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States." I applaud McCain for his honesty. Too bad it doesn't work to get elected. I am starting to feel sorry for John.

And, really, this is a result of the kind of campaign he's run.
DukeNukeEm
What you'd have to worry about is the rank-and-file GOP, they love to fight and McCain doesn't really have control over them. Although they'd be more motivated by hate for Obama than love for McCain (Hillary doesn't really count, she's already a divisive figure). April 15th, good call lostfan. BigSqwert
QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) I applaud McCain for his honesty. I don't. He should be ashamed of himself. It's McCain and his campaign that started all of this and now that everyone is calling him on it he's finally acting on it. What a disgrace. What happened to the McCain of 2000? That man is long gone.

HuskyCaucasian
PS: Here's the poll closing times for all the states. based on poll closing, we might have a pretty good idea of how this election will be going right after the first polls close at 6 and 6:30 central time. States include Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, and Ohio. If Obama wins any 2 of those states, it's almost a LOCK for him to win. And the fact that he wins two of those states probably means he'll win most of the other toss-up states as well. However, if he loses all 4, then we are heading right on into a potential electoral college tie. Edited October 13, 2008 by Athomeboy_2000
