....Arizona?!?

Cronkite/Eight Poll: McCain Could Lose Arizona

A new Cronkite/Eight Poll in Arizona shows Sen. John McCain leads Sen. Barack Obama by just two points, 46% to 44%.

Said poll director Bruce Merrill: "Obama has been closing the gap by attracting independents and women to his campaign. McCain does well among conservative Democrats and evangelicals. Still, a week is a long time in a political campaign and anything can happen. Who wins will be determined by which candidate gets their supporters out to the polls on Election Day."

These results are similar to two polls released yesterday that also showed a tight race in McCain's home state.

Don't know where to post this, so I will ask here. Has anyone asked McCain if he gave up government secrets while in captivity? And has any outlet reported on his years as a P.O.W.?

He did, but who's counting?

Everything could be 'racially charged' if your preconditioned political stances determine it so. If you are referring to the flyer which is linked in this thread, why do you assume that is from McCain? Anyone can print up some crazy flyer and put it all over the place; that flyer is completely crazy, over the top, and racist.

I certainly do think that flyer is total garbage, I completely disagree with its views no matter who is printing them. So you just lost your bet.

Pretty ballsy to assume that his campaign is actually sending those out. If theyre even real, they might just be some idiot. I love the assumptions though, Im sure if the shoe was on the other foot you would condemn Obama immediately like you are McCain, stay classy.

So what's the source of this? The actual GOP? A couple of jerks in the GOP?

According to the flier it's from Barack Hussein Obama II. But yeah...probably a couple of jerks in the GOP.

If they are McCain supporters... wouldn't they be "little jerks"? ;)

lol i didn't condemn john mccain. and i didn't say his campaign was sending them out. of course they're not. and yes, I WOULD condemn Obama cuz as everyone here knows I'm not his no. 1 fan. I think he's got a lot of problems and he's exactly the same as every other politician who's ever run for office. I just don't want that Palin character anywhere near the White House.

SOrry then, I prematurely called you a hypcrite when you were trying to say someone else would be hypocritical if the shoe were on the other foot. I guess we were basically saying the same thing.

Which by that logic, the Dems who are associating those to McCain should have no problems with guys like Wright and Ayers being associated with Obama, because at least he actually knows them, right? I didn't think so.

So here is something I thought was interesting from the polls, whici I think is reflective not so much of McCain's weakness as a candidate, but more about how weak his campaign has been.

The following are the only states where McCain has a solid (double digit) lead in recent poll averages:

AK

AL

AR

ID

KS

KY

LA

NE*

OK

SC

TN

TX

UT

WY

That's just 14 states, which means that 36 states are either in Obama's corner or "in play". And one of those 14, NE, Obama is contesting one of the three EV's. To me, this data shows me an inability for McCain to get his message out in an effective way.

As a follow-up, Obama shows double digit leads in these states:

CA

CT

DC

DE

HI

IA

IL

MA

MD

ME

MI

MN

NJ

NY

OR

PA

RI

VT

WA

WI

That is 20 states, plus part of NE. So its more or less 20.5 to 13.5 in terms of solidly held states.
