Interesting match-up here. Villone is usually all over the place, as he has very little command. Then, you have a hitter with one of the best ideas of the strike zone in all of baseball. Hopefully he just pops up to center.

I thought Ball 3 to Fontenot looked pretty good.

Molina got up too quickly to catch it. I thought the first pitch in the Soriano AB was a strike. The 3rd strike on Izturis in the 7th was a brutal call.

Nice catch by Skip. Hopefully Ankiel or Pujols end this, as I give Troy Glaus a 1 pct chance of touching a Kerry Wood pitch.

There was the 1 pct, but it was a weak pop up. He needs to get back on the juice, he has no bat speed.

I can't emphasize how shocked I am to see Lilly and Hill struggling so much. It's not like they both had fluke, career years last year. Just a matter of time before Dempster falls back to earth, washed up Jon Lieber takes Hill's rotation spot, they move Marmol to closer and thus have zero middle relief, and the pitching nightmares really begin.

Could be worse for them though: They could have the White Sox offense. :(

wow, Soriano completely falling apart in the outfield, 2 plays he completely botched

They must have told him not to hop when he catches a ball, and now his fundamentals are all screwed up.

I wish there was a greener green to use when I talk about fundamentals in a Soriano discussion.

It's amazing the difference in the Sox 2-5 hitters compared to the Cubs. You expect nothing with the Sox, but when the Cubs 2-5 hitters are up, you're shocked if they don't reach base and score at least one run. So far, it really hurts that Fukudome looks to be a much better player than Swisher.

Why did you pick swisher? Does Fukudome play center?

Cubs send Rich Hill to AAA Iowa. I have a feeling he is in Pinella's dog house and we may not see him for awhile. Leiber will start now.

Something to consider with moving Lieber into the starting spot. He's pitched a lot of innings this season coming in for Lilly and Hill. The lineups in those games were righty dominant. Lieber has always had use splits against righties/lefties. Thus, he will now face more lineups that are set with lefty hitters from the beginning.

There's 4 guys on the Cubs roster I'd rather have at 2nd base than our jokers (Theriot/Cedeno/Fontenot/Derosa).

soriano #5 for me...

This is kind of funny. At a shareholders' meeting, someone asked Warren Buffet if he was interesting in buying the Cubs...

Later, asked by a teen shareholder whether he is interested in buying the Chicago Cubs (currently on sale by the Tribune Co. for roughly $700 million), Buffett said he did not need the "psychic income" and would not swing at the offer.

Apparently, he feels that the Cubs aren't a particularly good financial investment. :lolhitting
