Zambrano vs Padres offense with wind blowing in = recipe for a C. Zambrano shutout.

Oooooooor not

Something is up with Zambrano. He is in the 80's, the trainers came out and looked at him, he is acting like something is bothering him

Looks like his back was bothering him. Hopefully he's injured...if there's someone that's due for an injury, it's him.

He always has that something that bothers him at least once a year, usually cramping in the arms. But you are right, he is due something. Not that I wish injury on anyone, but it just seems to be the way it is nowadays

Well, that Padres lead didn't last long. Where's Jim Edmonds when you need him. At least we have Estes trying to stop their winning streak tomorrow.

i know randy wolf has been good this year, but how pathetic is this padres team? randy wolf and shawn estes in the rotation? jody gerut leading off and playing CF??

And the Cubs get to play the Pirates afterwards. One powerhouse after another

I assume their manager will be fired soon. I still think the Giles family should have their own wing in the steroids Hall of Shame.

While the Brewers have to play Boston and the Cards get the red hot Rays. You would think MLB would try and give the Cubs some marquee interleague games, but they've had extremely easy schedules two years in a row.

i cant wait for interleague play....the NL is so bad this year its not even funny...ugh i know i talk about it all the time, but it just aggravates me so much to watch the cubs beat up on a new has-been pitcher every night while facing a joke of an offense and bullpen guys nobody has ever heard of (with the exception of the last diammondbacks series, but even that team isnt as good as their record indicates, though i will concede they are very legit, and are the cubs, but the rest of the league stinks)

They face three of the worst offenses in the AL during interleague in the Sox, Orioles, and Toronto (without Wells, of course).

Well, that's cause the Sox sucked. If they do awful again vs the National League, then we'll know they're not really contenders.

Needless to say, I took losing 5 out of 6 to the Cubs very well.

I have come to the realization that the opponent does not matter to the White Sox. I do not know how to explain it. They are such rhythem type of team that their mindset seems to set the tone for a game / streak.

I have great seats right behind the visiting dugout at Wrigley for the Cubs-Padres game Thursday. It might be Maddux' last game at Wrigley Field, and I want to be there to witness it. I just hope the Padres can score some runs off of Ryan Dempster.

Why are these Cubs threads so popular? I just don't get it.

I can only speak for myself, but I like this thread because I have a lot of Cub fans in my family, as well as a lot of friends who like them.

As a result, I watch a lot of Cubs baseball and I like to be able to discuss their games objectively with people.

I just like to watch baseball in general - just because the White Sox are my favorite team doesn't mean I'm blinded to or disinterested in all other teams.

Not all Sox fans foam at the mouth at the mere mention of the Cubs, so those fans often like to discuss Cubs games as well.

Maybe it's because of an article like this:

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...,5112032.column

The reality is that he White Sox are eeking their way through the schedule as I posted in thh MLB thread, while the cubs can feast on an inferior league with teams that should not exist. While I think the teams on paper match up well the divisions and league that they are in make the reality of their situations polar opposites.
