if dempster can keep it up for 2 starts he will have a shot at making the all star team, because the cubs begin a stretch from may 12 to may 28 of arguably the sorriest offensive schedule ever over a period of 16 games.....san diego for 4, pittsburgh for 3, houston for 3, pittsburgh for 3 more, and the dodgers for 3...

even beyond that htey get the offensively struggling rockies for 4, then out to SD, and LA where hitters go to die....then they finally start playing the big boy league and the NL east

They play Pittsburgh 9 times before June 1st.

What happened on that play? Also, did he make a good throw home to get Fielder?

Frankly the cubs have a horseshow up their ass offensively so far this season. Len and Bob were going through their OBP, I would expect a nasty drop from everyone in the lineup with the exception of DLEE and FUdome. No way in hell Theriot ends up with a .400 OBP, he may flirt with .330

True, but I don't think people realized just how much they upgraded their RF and C position from last year. Soto very well could end up being the best hitting catcher in baseball in terms of power production. When Soriano heats up, that's a scary lineup.

I didn't see Fielder, but on the Kosuke hit, Gallardo threw a ball on the inside half of the plate...pretty much a perfect pitch...and Kosuke got jammed and the ball landed 15 feet from him up the 3rd base line. Basically the perfect example of a swinging bunt.

Fukudome is 4-for-4 today.

He's basically abandoned going for the long ball, but he's an on-base machine right now.

His throw to get Fielder was very nice, but with Fielder tripping over his fat folds Kosuke had a good amount of time to set up his throw.

Somebody better tell Prince that eating a 55-gallon drum of cheese is no healthier than eating meat.

Atleast Wood is still the closer. He's no where near as good as Marmol.

Wood is in a huge hurry to blow the save.

Lou is dumb if he doesn't close Marmol soon, and stick Wood in the 7th or 8th inning slot.

Your closer is supposed to be your best pitcher. Wood is quite obviously not the best pitcher in the Cubs bullpen.

As good as it is that the Brewers took the lead, why on earth would you send Weeks from 3rd? That's so dumb. Just let him stay on 3rd and try and get another one on a sac fly or even 2 if Fielder gets a hit.

Man, that's terrible.
