It's funny how it seems this way. Willis getting injured was terrible luck for the Sox.

When you look at anything over a stretch of 2 innings I bet you can think that. Even a loss in this game...we still manage to eat up Detroit's bullpen.

Willis is a terrible pitcher, and the Tigers weren't going to pull him early no matter what happened (unless of injury). Our lineup was made to pound a lefty, instead they brought in a slider ball pitcher who's nasty on righties. With Verlander going tomorrow, I think eating up the bullpen is overrated.

Why is he stubborn? I think he just doesn't have the stuff he used to. His forkball used to be one of the best pitches in baseball....now he can't get Clete Thomas to chase it.

It's not a matter of opinion, it's a fact... Contreras has nothing anymore. He has lost velocity, lost the bite on his fork ball, and throws nothing but junk. Add that to the fact he struggles throwing strikes, and any runner with any speed can steal off of him, you got a recipe for one long season for Contreras.

The only problem is that no team will want him. Looks more and more like we'll have to eat that 20 million. Maybe if we're lucky we can get a prospect (not a good one most likely) for him in a trade if we eat a good majority of his contract.

We're down 1 run....it's still early, and Lopez is their best reliever.

Exactly, get him out of the game. Get a delay, let them bring in Grilli.

So much for Lopez tiring....he's made the last two guys look silly.

He is using the Joe Mays formula. Spot the pitch low and away, then start the slider away and allow the magic to happen.

This umpire is absolutely pathetic.

i hate complaining about umpires, but so far this year this has been the worst quality of umpiring i can remember i feel like

That was one of the weaker offensive innings you'll ever see. We just don't have the type of lineup that can do anything against this guy. I hope we can bring up Richar for Ramirez eventually, as it would be nice to have a lefty bat.
