Controlled Chaos
Any good pics out there? This one from the sox site is kinda small. Any comments from anyone who saw it yesterday? It says in the article El Duque has a bronze image in there, but I can't see him. Unless that's him top right? I think I'd rather have Dye than El Duque....actually I'd rather have a couple guys...El Duque's performance in that Boston game was just sick and it was huge, but bigger than Dye MVP? or Jenks closing games out? I don't know...I suppose everyone can debate it. Is there two sides to it??

Duque's performance will live forever, might as have a momento somewhere. Edited April 12, 2008 by rangercal
the People's Champ
It looks great, but the only question I have is why did it take 2 1/2 years to get one in place.
Buehrle>Wood
Hm, I would much rather prefer Pods' walk-off HR to be on there than Crede's double. That will always be the most memorable moment to me. I guess they wanted one from each series(El Duque's, Kong's, and Uribe's are well-deserved), but Crede's double is most memorable for reasons that don't even really deal with him. I don't know, I personally would love to have Pod's HR on there I don't know if I would take Crede's double off to fit it up there. The HR was a key play, but if you ask me Crede's hit was, by far, way more pivotal. The Sox were already down one game, to an "exhausted" Angels team. If that game goes into extra innings and the Angels end up pulling it out, we're talking heading back to Anaheim for 3, down 2 games to none. That changes the whole complexion of the series, and to be honest I question if they would have been able to pull it off.
The Ginger Kid
QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 06:11 AM) Wow,whos decision was it to have El Duque? He isnt one I would have chose to represent that team.Wasnt he sent packing the next year? what he did against boston in the sixth inning of game 3 is still my favorite "moment' from the entire playoffs (aside from the last out, of course). Swingandalongonetoleft
I had work during game 3 of the ALDS. Through some fortunate alignment of the stars I took lunch right in time to catch the whole "Duque inning". I've had final exams and police encounters less stressful than that piece of time right there. Crede over Pods? I don't understand how the most improbable moment of the entire postseason got overlooked for a double... IMO Gooch's ALDS game 2 homer is also worthy. If I were in charge I'd also add a giant bronze "14-2". Not only was it especially satisfying to step all over the SAWKS with Berman calling the game in a semi-stupor, but the moment I saw the final score I got the feeling that we would do just fine that October. I'm actually glad to see El Duque featured. I still get chills from that bottom of the 6th inning at Fenway, and as great as those first two ALDS games were, that really was the moment where I first felt "hey we're gonna WIN this thing!!!" The Ginger Kid
since the sox are becoming so statue happy, they'd better set aside a nice big chunk of space for one Frank Edward Thomas.
ChiliIrishHammock24
I couldn't get a shot from the other side because of course everyone wanted to view the thing from 2 feet away, completely obstructing everyone with a camera.
