rokimar
Any news on how his injury is healing? It was supposed to be 4-6 week. What happens in Charlotte with him and Getz if he has a rehab stint?
claydude14
I wonder how he is doing too. All I know is that Charlotte ends out May in Rochester for a 4-game set (but it's Mon-Thurs) so I plan on getting to at least 2 of those games in or more. max power
Balta posted yesterday that he is doing well, should be a couple weeks before he starts playing baseball. So around the start of may he will be somewhere, maybe just throwing and taking swings or maybe down in AAA for a while. The Beast
With the way the Sox are playing now with the guys that they have, why bring up Owens or Richar?
YASNY
According to the Trib, Richar has started playing. He went 0-4 in his first game.
YASNY
Oh hell ... my mistake. I think it was Owens they mentioned.
lostfan
Richar is still our 2B of the future and I really hope to see him as the full-time starter there before the season's out.
rangercal
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) Every team has holes, including this one. Juan and his .184 BA aren't doing the offense any favors. His D has been great at 2B, but when Richar is healthy, he should get a shot at 2B, no matter what the record is. yup beacause it's still early and we all know Richar will save this team with his .230 Avg
harfman77
I would like to see Alexei sent down when Richar is healthy so that he can get everyday at bats, I think he stills needs to adjust to playing ball in the US a little more. Then Ozzie can use Richar off the bench to augment Juan when it is necessary.
WilliamTell
I could see Alexei getting sent down if Uribe is still on the team. They're not going to send Uribe down to the minors. I hope they don't send down Anderson even though he doesn't get any playing time. I would rather see Owens replace Anderson.
BearSox
most people talk about D, and Richar is no slouch with the golve. He plays an excellent 2B from what I've seen.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) most people talk about D, and Richar is no slouch with the golve. He plays an excellent 2B from what I've seen. He's average at best defensively.
klaus kinski
Very average-sitting in RF last year-got to watch him closely-
WCSox
Despite Uribe's well-documented problems with the stick, I really like him at 2B and would be fine with him staying there for the rest of the season.
Leonard Zelig
I don't think it would be a bad idea to let Alexei & Richar play middle infield together in AAA for a while. They may be doing it for the big team next year.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) most people talk about D, and Richar is no slouch with the golve. He plays an excellent 2B from what I've seen. Richar is capable of making some good plays, but he's very erratic. I have to agree with DA, he's average there at best. Though he may improve with time. lostfan
QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:38 AM) yup beacause it's still early and we all know Richar will save this team with his .230 Avg Yeah dude, because everybody who hits nearly .300 for their career in the minors and then hits .230 in their first 200 MLB plate appearances is going to hit .230 forever, and is never going to get better. I'm glad for Alex Rodriguez they didn't judge him using that criteria too because his first 200 PA's looked about the same as Richar's, but we all know what happened after that. Obviously I'm not comparing Richar to A-Rod but not everybody comes into MLB screaming like Ken Griffey Jr., you know.

harfman77
If Richar and Ramirez are both in AAA, who takes that spot on the bench? Borgeous?

Hardly "dude", merely invalidating your post like you did to the other fellow. You invalidated my post with non-existent logic that didn't have much to do (or had very little to do) with my point, which was that expecting someone's career numbers to look like their first experience of MLB pitching is just the wrong way to think. You responded in the same sarcastic tone I was using by saying "well anybody can fail." Well, duh. And? the People's Champ
If Richar and Ramirez are both in AAA, who takes that spot on the bench? Borgeous? It would have to be Owens right? I mean as station to station as we are right now we need someone who can come in and pinch run in a late inning situation. Perhaps steal a base.
