Flash Tizzle
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) I am turning 21 this Thursday! I need some suggestions for a some nice spots to go to. I live in the south side 'burbs. What are some good places to go to downtown? If you plan on doing something Thursday it'd probably be better to stay around the south side. I don't know where this suburb is you're from, but you could try the typical, well known hangouts -- Bourbon St (~115th and Kedzie) or Cork and Kerrys (105th and Western). I enjoy Quigleys off 111th and Pulaski. Further south you couldn't go wrong with any of the bars along Oak Park Ave. in Tinley. And it's within walking distance of the Rock Island metra station. whitesoxfan101
Since you imply that you live in the southland, I'd go with flash and suggest the bars along Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park. Plenty of good times to be had in that hood, and the metra can avoid the driving dilemma after a night of fun. Felix
I've heard there are some good libraries in Chicago... churches too. I'm sure you could hang out there and have the time of your life
shipps
Go to Polekatz on 100th and Harlem.
GoSox05
I would go to metromix and look around. Match up what area you wanna hang out in. What kind of music your into. Stuff like that.
RockRaines
What are you looking to do? I can suggest some spots based on what crowd you'd like to hang out with and what you want to accomplish. Typically for someone your age, you can hang around the DePaul haunts near lincoln or up in wrigleyville with that swine. Southport corridor isnt bad, and rush/division and old town have its quality spots.
Whitewashed in '05
Haha I guess I didn't get specific enough. What are some good bars/clubs to go to? Tinley and north burbs seem to be a popular choice. Rock, I'm looking for some hip hop and rock music with lots of girls. No techno, reggaeton stuff... I heard rush/division was a good spot because of all the places within walking distance which is what I would like. Are Crobar, Hugs and Hunnies, and Coyote Ugly any good? I was told about some other places, but can't remember the names... Since I live close to tinley i'm sure I'll be there plenty in the future so I would like spots that I wouldn't always go to. I have friends that go to bourbon st all the time so I'll stay away from there this weekend too. I'll definitely refer back to this in the future so even if I don't go to these places for my bday I'll keep them in mind.

Just somewhere I can have a wild/fun night out meeting some good looking women and having fun with friends. Like I mentioned before, some good hip hop and/or rock music. BTW this is exactly why I asked for some input on places to go. As you can see not great recommendations there. At your age most of the folks hang out up north in the Depaul area, and possibly wrigleyville. Moe's is a big hot spot by Wrigley, lots of good women there. Rockit mentioned above is a pretty good time as well, it just seems to me its a little older crowd because the drinks tend to be pricier downtown. For lounges and clubs-NV, Krem, Stone Lotus, Enclave seem to be the hotter ones right now, RiNO or Spy for late night clubbing. Some people like Moda as well. For just bars and a younger female crowd, I would try Moe's, the apartment, McGee's, Grand Central, McFaddens, pretty much anything in Bucktown and Wicker (but thats a more artsy crowd if thats your thing), Goodbar, Barleycorn on Lincoln (and then you could just walk that portion of lincoln and check out the 15 or so bars within 3 blocks). For latenight bar action try Big City, Tai's till 4, Franks, and I cant seem to remember the 2 more since its so early in the morning. Some of that will get you started on some of your basic first steps towards the Chi nightlife. After you complete that layer, we can start moving into the lesser "name" places that are super solid.
