Ok then....we'll just see who is right and who is wrong. We'll get to see by the All-Star break.

Someone will be eating crow.

FINALLY...PROPS TO U MAN...U DIDN'T MAKE ANY EXCUSES...AWFUL DESCRIBED THIS TEAM IN EVERY SINGLE WAY...

I didn't make excuses. What is this then?...

EVEN THE TIGERS HAVE A WEEK WHERE THEY PLAY GOOD BALL

Looks like an excuse to me.

How about this one?...

THE CUBS R A .500 TEAM IN A s*** DIVISION

Are you denying the fact that the Cubs starting staff is incredibly good....among the best in the league....and that their bullpen is also pretty good? They have some good arms on that team. They have little offense though, and that killed them.

And finally....

AND EVERYBODY HAS BEEN POUNDIN THE TWINS

Is that not saying the same thing as "the Sox are always beaten by pitchers they haven't seen"?

Pot, meet kettle

I hate to say it, but as soon as there are expectations of this team, our asses get too tight. Now that KW has made some moves because we have clawed back into the race, the team now knows that they are expected to win. I noticed this pattern since the 2000 season. The first half of the 2000 season, nothing was expected of us, the kids could play, and everyone was asking themselves, 'are they for real?'. When teams realized we were for real that year, we sucked the second half. Then 2001 and 2002 and even this year, we made moves in the off-season that made us look like the team to beat and a lot was expected from this team. They just do not perform well under pressure. The one good move KW made this year was making a few trades before the trading deadline, now we have a month to see how this group does and he can dump some of our guys who can land us prospects if we fall out of contention again before July 31st. Like I said, I hate to say it, but I've seen this trend once too many times with this group. Same old song and dance.

I completely agree with the expectations post. Fantastic.

I also agree that we should not panic but here is my big problem with this team. They may still very well win the Central (and I think they will), but how will they win in the playoffs is beyond me?

It is clear management wants to go for the big enchilada, not just get into the playoffs this year.

How will they beat the Mariners, Sox or Yanks with this incosistency? To me, that is a problem.

I want to see how this team plays against good teams....like the Mariners, A's, Yanks, Red Sox, or whoever else.

Well the early returns vs the M's, A's, Red Sox, and Giants is 6-13.

Blistering!

Very frustrating to lose by one-run to a second tier team isn't it? One POST

said that we never hit against pitchers we haven't seen before and their right. Any minor league call up or rookie with an ERA over 10.00 can shut us out it seems. Hawk and DJ mentioned it last night on WGN and what the problem is and it was when Carlos Lee was up. Everyone wants to hit the dinger instead of going with the pitch and taking it to right field and up the middle. Carlos is back to his old self and overswinging on everything. Others are doing it too. They know what their supposd to do but don't stick with the plan.
