Texsox
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) Huh? No it wasn't. It was questionable performance by Jenks today. Yep, Get to the ninth and your closer. Mission Accomplished. Just one of those days and why they play the games.
almagest
Hawk made a good point in Mora's at-bat. He was obviously trying to go the other way or up the middle, and seemed to be looking offspeed. Why they kept throwing him breaking balls over the outer half, i don't know.
RME JICO
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) Huh? No it wasn't. It was questionable performance by Jenks today. Floyd out after 81 pitches, Thornton in for 1 batter, and Dotel in 2 outs.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 05:58 PM) Still no earned runs yet tonight. That says something.
Frankensteiner
Well, at least people will get their wish of Logan v. Scott & Huff next inning.
Wanne
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Questionable bullpen usage by Ozzie today. not at all...just pissed away the lead is all. Ozzie played it well IMO. Bobby (and AJ) needs to stick with his bread and butter...the heater.
fathom
QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) Still no earned runs yet tonight. There were 2 that inning.
mr_genius
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) I guarantee that if Konerko hadn't made that error earlier in the game, he would have tried to double up the runner on Hernandez's grounder. that decision ended up hurting. i still think it was the right move. get the sure out, then have 2 outs in the inning. had a run to work with. oh well
Frankensteiner
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Floyd out after 81 pitches, Thornton in for 1 batter, and Dotel in 2 outs. I don't understand how that impacted the outcome of the game. We got to our closer with a 2 run lead in the 9th which is all you can ask for. Balta1701
QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) Floyd out after 81 pitches, Thornton in for 1 batter, and Dotel in 2 outs. Floyd seemed to a lot of people to be gassed after his outing regardless of his pitch count. You can quarrel with the use of Thornton for 1 batter, but Dotel really shouldn't ever be used for more than 1 inning.
fathom
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:01 AM) I don't understand how that impacted the outcome of the game. We got to our closer with a 2 run lead in the 9th which is all you can ask for. Should have had a 3 run lead going into the 9th...that AJP error will probably never happen again in his time with the Sox.

fathom
I'll just throw this out there, but the sooner we start putting Anderson in RF for defensive reasons late in the game when we're winning, the better we'll be.
