We lost tonite

For all of you guys freaking out because we lost to the D-Rays you really ought to take a look in the past of how the Sox have played in Tropicana Field. Remember a couple years back, Howry gave up a walk off home run and lost that game? The D-Rays always get up to play us for some reason.

If you're still runnin around b****in than here's something happy for you to think about.

Minnesota and Kansas City lost tonight, to Cleveland and Detroit. Two teams that THEY SHOULD easily beat.

We're not the only team in the division that has trouble beating bad teams. Every team can beat any other team in this league, that's what professional baseball is.

Thank you very much.

It was about the 65th time someone said what you just said...but in this case, it doesn't matter how many times it is said. It just shows intelligence by saying it and realizing it.

So once again, thank you. :)

Fine, KC and Minny lost. And we lost two things. The game and a chance to gain a game...

Stop being so damn negative, we're 4.5 games out and we should be thankful we even have the opportunity to gain ground and win the division.

Was it just me, or were the majority of posters here saying just 2 or 3 days ago that winning 2 out of 3 or sweeping the D-Rays was a must  ? Maybe I was misled here.

A team that we are led to believe is a "contender" shouldn't face the prospect of being swept by a last place team. Ever. Brush it off all and act like it's no big deal. Hopefully we don't lose this division by 5 games (2 losses to Tampa Bay so far and 3 losses to Detroit so far) cause everyone here that is saying "Don't worry" will bring up these games in their woulda, shoulda, coulda arguments. Book it!

I believe we should expect a sweep when we have Colon, Loaiza and Buehrle starting against TB regardless of our previous troubles with them. Instead, we are looking at getting swept. I'm sorry if this is 'negative', but that should not happen. I hope Mark can stop the bleeding today.

I think I was the first one to dub winning this series as a "must". I ALSO warned that the Sox MAY come in and play poorly. In a way, it was bound to happen after the emotional high this team was on after mauling the Twins and obtaining Roberto and Carl. It just seems to happen that way in pro sports. Don't know why, it just does.

And come October, if we lose the division by a game, you can't look back at July and say "Damn, if Koch hadn't given up that HR to Crawford, we'd be having a 1-game playoff for the division" because it doesn't work that way. EVERY team loses games that they should have won. Either they blow the game, or they simply lose to an inferior team (or, sometimes, both occur on the same night). The time to worry about July games is in July -- not when the season is over.

That said, a 13-2 victory today would help. :)

These are games lost that should have been won. You can't get them back. If the Sox miss the playoffs by a couple of games, these are the games you will look back on. They didn't lose any ground, great. They should have gained ground. The other frustrating thing is they are losing the same way they did before this recent hot streak. I'm not freaked out, just terribly disappointed. We could be/ should be tied with Minnesota right now 2.5 back of KC, putting the pressure on.

No offense to you Roman, but

f*** off.

I have seen the way the Sox have played against TB, its not pretty.

Anyway, I agree with CWSOX45's post. Remember that all teams are professional.

It was a must. How are we gonna deal with a real team if we cant beat a team like TB?

You are going to tell me that the intensity from the Cubs and Twins series was going to carry on to the Tampa Bay series? I don't think so. They just hit the biggest stretch of the year, up to this point, in the past 2 weeks. They realized that too. You are not going to be able to take that same kind of intensity into every series. That will wear on you and take a lot out of you in the end.

They're professionals. The intensity brought to the ballpark for the Cubs and Twins series should be brought against any team, at any ballpark, EVERYDAY! To let this team off the hook for losing 2 of 3 so far to the f***ing D-Rays because this series isn't as tense as the past Cubs and Twins series is complete BULLs***!

I agree.

You had to know that they were going to let up a little intensity wise though.

Then you can forget any talk of the playoffs. We play two decent teams in July (Toronto and KC) and since TB, Detroit, and Cleveland are largely fan free this season, I guess it is to be expected now that the White Sox will save their intensity for series against Seattle, Oakland, Anaheim, and the Yankees in September  . We should be 10 games out at least by the end of this month simply because the White Sox need packed houses and city/division rivals to be intense and competitive.

Hey, let's hope they pull their heads out of their asses and they finally decided to beat some s*** teams :)

OK, then forget about the playoffs.

A lack of 100% intensity every night is a reality -- accept it or choose to get pissed by it.

And it's 8-0 Sox w/ 1 out in the 3rd. :usa
