fathom
We face some legit offenses coming up. If the offense doesn't pick it up, we're going to be in trouble.

rangercal
You can not lose a game like this after taking the lead, against a team with Kevin Millar in the middle of the lineup. Case Closed.

Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) Bullpen didn't look too sharp either. Just a game I'd like to forget. Alright, you have these games. But here are the 2 issues that come out of it that are likely to recur: (1) The terrible outfield defense of Jermaine Dye. It's about 50-50, on any given day, whether Jermaine will look 33 years old or 49 years old out there. That's not going to change. Get him out of the game with a lead. (2) The predictable Jenks pitch selection. This has been going on for about 2 years now. If it's 2 strikes on a hitter, particularly at 0 and 2, it's going to be a curveball. They have got to mix that up back there. (Oh, and any time, Bobby wants to reach back for the alleged 98 MPH fastball, I'm all for it. But, at the least, stop being so predictable.) Roberts knew it; he sat on it; and he pulled it for the hit.

And goddman AJ...his calling the game left a lot to be desired. Now I'm gonna be pissed the rest of the night and get a s***ty nights sleep. Konerko needs a day off. His approach is s*** right now. The 3-4-5 hasnt clicked as a group all season long so far.
DrunkBomber
Tough way to lose but I wont get too upset about it. The team has looked great thus far this season.

The 3-4-5 hasnt clicked as a group all season long so far. For right now, move Dye to 4th, AJ to 5th, and Konerko to 6th. That absolute non factor in the 9 spot is a lingering issue. southsideirish71
Uribe is pathetic with the bat, can we DH for the 2nd baseman and let the pitcher hit. At least the pitcher might take more pitches.

G&T
PK and Thome have no clue what's going on at the plate. Might have to split them up. Put Dye between them or something

Frankensteiner
Where is Jenks' fastball? He looks like fat Billy Koch out there with his beard and low 90's heat. Edited April 18, 2008 by Frankensteiner

But then Brian wouldn't be carrying out his important responsibilities in the dugout -- waxing the helmets, applying Swisher's eye-black, filing Ozney's nails. The list goes on. He f***ed up, it happens.

fathom
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 03:38 AM) He has saved how many games this year with the same stuff. The minute he blows a save, the radar gun police come out. He f***ed up, it happens. That's true, but his strikeout rate is alarming. Hitters no longer have to protect against his fastball, as he doesn't get near the swings and miss on the heater like when he first came up. He'll be ok, he's the least of our concerns. If he sucks this year, so will the team.

The more I see what someone like Swisher brings to the team, the more I want the Sox to trade PK. I'm one of his biggest fans, and never thought I'd say that. SoxFan562004
losses like this happen. A couple of errors, the infield hit in the 9th against bobby. The key is to not let it snowball. Floyd looked good and bobby looked OK, it just didn't go his way tonight, it will take a few more of those before I worry about Bobby
