Rex Hudler
Reed just SUX Only 12 hits in his first 4 games at home in Birmingham. 13 game hitting streak as well. His one out tonight came with two outs and the bases loaded. I'd nitpick and say he wasn't a clutch hitter, but he hit that ball as hard as any of his hits tonight. Chisoxfn
Great Falls box........ That team is freakin loaded. Gray, Nanita and Anderson have all be very impressive and Bounds has been on fire as well. Notice the nice start by Nachreiner, our 5th rounder from this year. Only question with Nachreiner is his health. Guy has pretty much no knees so the Sox took a huge gamble on him. First round arm, first round stuff, but doctors have constantly told him he won't be able to pitch. The Sox feel with medicine making advances the way they are, just to take a shot. They spent 200,000 on him and I'd say its worth the risk. What does anyone know about Bounds? I hadn't heard of him until this year after I read some articles saying he has massive power. I'm assuming he was drafted in the latter rounds last year? Either way he's looking like a potential legite prospect. The only thing is, its hard to tell with Great Falls cause the park is supposed to be an absolute band-box. Nanita is looking like a stud pick. Also, great game for Reed and Guillermo Reyes. Pedro Lopez is doing pretty darn good too with the average over .275. I'd say Lopez is a better prospect than Yan now, and its part of the reason Yan was on that list with the Rangers. Right now Lopez and Gonzalez are the big middle infield guys at the lower levels with Valido very talented, but still only part of a season thus far. Sucks Adkins got hit. This must of been his first bad start in a while. Thanks for the updates Cerb and Hudler.

Bounds was a draft and follow from the 2000 draft. Didn't sign until just before the 2001 draft. He played in Arizona in 2001 and in Bristol last year, so this is his 3rd season in rookie league. He is 21 and wil be 22 in August. He had a nice year in Bristol last year .285 with 9 HR and 38 RBI and 36 BB in just 193 AB. He did strike out 48 times however. He is listed at 6'6" 210 so he is a big guy. Throws right, bats left. He really needs to be pushed to a higher level to see if he can handle it.
MnSoxFan
Bounds was drafted out of a Texas HS and as Rex said was signed as a draft and follow. Still young, but does need to move up. I want to say he was middle round pick, I do not have my info in front of me (its at work dang it), but I think he was like a 20th or 30th rounder. Jim Fainter
Reed and Hankins have one very nice thing in common: when they get moved up to a higher classification, they improve and the stats go way up. I noticed an outfielder at Kanny named Cook. Same guy who used to be at Gt Falls? I would sure like to see Anderson and Nanita move up. Re: Bounds. This is his third year at the Rookie level. Pretty soon we will have to protect him on the 40 man roster or lose him. Or worse trade him. I have the feeling that other GM's are lining up at Kenny's door offering us some slug for these kids. Fortuantely, we are not allowed to trade draft picks for one year, so Anderson and Nanita are safe for now.
