Rex Hudler
Bmr, after you have watched him pitch more than once, then let's talk. I have seen prospects come and go and I have more than been honest about the chances of some guys. I'd think you would already have picked that up in the short time I have been on here. If a guy is good, I'll tell you. If a guy isn't a prospect or isn't good, I'll tell you that too. I understand your point and it could have merit, but in this case, I don't believe it does. Five or six years it may have applied. I have seen the likes of Buehrle, Biddle, Ginter, Rauch, Fogg, Wells, Garland, Myette, Guerrier and many others just here in Birmingham. Cotts compares with any of them at this point. ummmmmmmmmm all those guys suck, bro. You got 5 big leaguers in that list.. They don't suck. Say what you want, but until you lay eyes on somebody, don't insinuate you know something I don't.

When you call a guy a top of the rotation guy, youre talking a STUD. Id bet the house, if i had one lol, that cotts wont come anywhere near a stud in the major leagues. All im saying is lets not add to the over hyping of these players.
MnSoxFan
I can see you are willing to consider other sources, sheesh, I would call Kip Wells, Garland and Biddle pretty damn good pitchers.

NONE of those pitchers, other than biddle this season, are even average pitchers, based on results.
MnSoxFan
Well, I beg to differ on Wells, he has a great ERA, been bothered by blister, but has pitched very well, bullpen has blown several games after he has left with leads. I also think Garland is a definite legit starting pitcher, maybe not an ace, but a solid rotation guy. I think you are looking for too much out of prospects if you think only one out of 50 make it. To the top of the rotation? Way less than 1 of 50 cant miss guys make it to the top of the rotation. There are only 30 some pitchers like that in the majors.......... It's not black and white man. You gotta look into the gray area. And for what it is worth, I have said that Cotts could be a top of the rotation guy (and to me that could mean anywhere from a #1 to #3 starter) if he solves his problems with walks. I don't see how that is overhyping.
