Jim Spencer
All this talk about underage drinking really hit home last night. My family and I were in sec. 106 last night. We saw 7 different guys get carted out, some in handcuffs and this was just how many we could count. I don't know how many on the other side of the park One thing all these guys had in common, besides having too much Liquid-Courage was that they were all in their 20's. I know there are alot of guys on this board that are under the age of 30 and I'm not saying every 20-something can't hold their liquid, but almost every time I've seen some one arrested at the park it's always a drunken 20 something male ( he's usually the one walking around with his cups all stacked together so you know how many beers he's had) When I was under 21, my buddies and I would buy a couple of beers at old Comisky, but we didn't get drunk and we didn't bother anyone. We were there to watch and enjoy a Baseball game. I take my family to see a baseball game, I really don't want my kids hearing the F-bomb or seeing retards fighting then seeing those same retards handcuffed and carted out. This was the 2nd time my kids have been to a Sox game where there was a long rain delay and both times there were alot of red-faced, glossy eyed 20 somethings carted off in handcuffs. I've got nothing against drinking a few beers and enjoying yourself, but know when to say when
DrunkBomber
Ive never seen anyone get taken out of there in cuffs. I wonder how far you would have to go to get arrested there. I saw a guy at Soldier Field get arrested for jumping off the tunnel and trying to tackle Trent Dilfer when he was on the Buccs and the guy missed. That was one of the coolest things ever. The Critic
Unfortunately, it's a statistical inevitability. You have enough people drinking, a percentage of them are going to go too far. I personally never did anything dangerous or belligerent while drunk, but some people are going to. It can be amusing in small doses, but the joke gets old in a hurry. Jim Spencer
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) Ive never seen anyone get taken out of there in cuffs. I wonder how far you would have to go to get arrested there. There were 2 guys in the Bull-pen bar arguing and security broke it up. They even shook hands afterwards. Then a 3rd guy figured it wasn't over with yet. He started running his mouth then he threw his beer in the face of one of the security guards. He was taken out in cuffs
jackie hayes
I understand, but only up to a point. Of course people shouldn't be fighting, etc, but if you expect to avoid cursing then you should just steer clear of ballparks. One of my vividest memories of old Comiskey was a fat, drunk f*** who repeatedly dropped his lit ciggy on my shiny little Sox jacket while cursing like a sailor. It's nothing new, it's always been that way.
Jim Spencer
It's not like my kids have not heard those words before, but when kids are sitting right in front of you, you could tone it down some. The Sox are always promoting that they're a Family friendly ball park and I'm sure if I wanted to be an Arse about it I could have had an usher sit by us. Milkman delivers
Funny that a couple of alcohol-related threads have appeared today (someone's birthday).
