Texsox
Someone who lived as a boarder in the house He also revealed how he had heard strange noises in the night and spotted him ferrying wheelbarrows of food under cover of darkness but did not consider it unusual. Naw, who would consider that unusual

Texsox
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 1, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) Unusual yes, but who would have guessed what the purpose of that was? Right. I guess my point was, of course it is unusual, but not criminal. When wqould you contact police? But much like Dahlmer had a victim run up to police and gbeg for help, sometimes the horrific just is not imaginable.

This whole episode is just that... too horrific for sane people to imagine.
CanOfCorn
Two things...one, she was a very attractive 18 year old and he knew and and stole it from her. Two: "Any punishment that falls a single day short of a life sentence is a mockery of the victims." this isn't enough. He should be beaten to a literal inch of his life, brought back to health and beaten again, for each person's life he ruined, INCLUDING the 3 day old boy that died. Or lock his ass up in a 3X3 windowless box in the middle of the Town Square for the rest of his natural life.
DrunkBomber
At work we were talking about realistic possible punishments and the only thing we can see happening would be life without parole in solitary confinement with absolutely no human contact for the rest of his life. Its unfortunate he is on the older side so he might not be alive long enough to suffer for how long his daughter did. i cant even image the trauma to the 4 that were in the basement, and how the kids that have never even seen natural light can ever adjust to life outside. But you are missing the horrific part right before that: Even if he is convicted of the worst offence of rape, he can only be jailed for a maximum of 15 years - nine years less than the sentence he inflicted on his own daughter. Texsox
No matter what they do to him, it will not help the victims, at all. And there is no punishment that is a deterrent to someone else with this sort of mental defect. I am also thinking the article is overlooking something. Yes he can only get 15 years for the rape, but there is also the seven individual cases of kidnapping, and a potential murder conviction for the infant. He is not getting out. Im assuming they can also hit him with multiple charges for some of the offenses. There is no way this guy should ever get out of jail, he might need to be committed. southsideirish71
For 3 years, you tie him up in the middle of the prison and let the deviants do whatever they want with him. Then you give him a shovel and tell him to dig a hole, when he finishes it take the shovel off of him smack him over the head with it, kick him in the hole, and cover with dirt.
