I wouldnt call a career .264 hitter one of the worst hitters the game has ever seen. He was no dynamo with the stick, but thats a little bit of embellishment.

In comparison Juan makes Ozzie look like A-rod

Career .625 OPS for Oz, try to find a couple more 10 year regulars from the live ball era with a lower career OPS. It's not easy.

He may not have been a terrible baseball player but damn does he have some ugly numbers.

True. Ozzie was, like Juan, one of the worst hitters the game has ever seen, but was great (for a period anyways) at defense. Maybe he just feels bad for him, and sympathizes, who knows?

Are you kidding me? Juan makes Guillen look like Ted Williams at the plate.

Uribe is completely hapless at the plate. Guillen was not. Guillen was a sound baseball player, that, at the very least, held his own at the plate.

I don't know, I remember reading an article from one of those SABR guys that analyzed the stats for all the hitters and compiled a list of the 25 worst hitters of all time. Ozzie was on there, as was Uribe and Neifi Perez. Those are the only three I can remember. I am trying ot find it, but can't seem to do so.

How? Uribe hits more homers a season than Ozzie hit in his career, and has a higher lifetime OBP. Ozzie's lifetime OBP is.287.

In regards to being a better hitter overall. Ozzie may not have been a slugger, but he got his hits here and there.

Sorry, i know you disagree, but Juan sucks as a hitter. Ozzie was consistent in his .250 average, Juan has steadily declined from his 2004 heyday

Then explain to me how Uribe has reached base more often in his career? Did he wake up in the middle of the night and break into where they store the stats and change them?

I am not explaining anything to you. You love Juan, i dont. I think him and hhis .170 average belong elsewhere.

More: Ozzie never had a season with more walks than K's.

Juan is 50 walks short of Ozzies career total in 8 less seasons.

I will give it to Ozzie though, he didn't strike out much. He just sucked at everything else.

When Ozzie played, he at least appeared to look like he knew what he was doing. He certainly didn't have corkscrew swings at the same clip that Uribe does. Uribe thinks he's Carlos Lee, but he's more like Pinky Lee at the plate. I bet he would be a .270 hitter if he wasn't swinging for Milwaukee every time up. he's strong enough that if he just puts the bat on the ball, he could get a good hard single. Instead, he's trying to hit a roof shot at old Comiskey...20 years ago.

I've been told time and time again on this board a strikeout is no worse than any other out. I guess that applies to everyone but Uribe.

Is it lonely as the only member of the Juan Uribe fan club.

2 years of mid .230ish BA, and a .170BA this year with a horrible OBP say he sucks.
