Guest wsc425
We designated him for assignment as well, do you think we will trade him?
Loaiza21
I really don't think that there is much of a buyers market for him.
Chisoxfn
I think Rios will pass through waivers and either go to Charlotte or tell the Sox he wants to be released.
greg775
That guy was no good; we are best rid of him, right?
Chisoxfn
That guy was no good; we are best rid of him, right? Rios struggled this year but he's a quality guy and there is no harm in having him in AAA. He does have good career numbers. I think things went south for him when JM wouldn't play him even after he was tearing the cover off the ball. Eventually he was trying to pull everything. DonkeyKongerko
after he was tearing the cover off the ball. I wouldn't go so far as tearing. Maybe peeling
SI1020
When Pittsburgh got him they had real high hopes. What a bust of a trade that was. They gave up Jason Schmitt. In his second game for the Pirates he tore up his knee and he's not been the same since. He lost the pop in his bat and what little mobility he had in the field. I think he's history. Rex Hudler
Rios struggled this year but he's a quality guy and there is no harm in having him in AAA. He does have good career numbers. I don't see Rios accepting an assignment to AAA.
cwsox
he was tearing the cover off the ball. damn I missed that - when was it?
Jim Fainter
Yeah, he was tearing the cover off the ball one week when he had two hits. Same time when Jiminez was making circus catches and running wild on the bases.
greg775
Funny how many guys don't pan out, but I agree it'd be OK to let him continue playing minor league ball in our system. He stunk on our parent club, however.
YASNY
Like with Jiminez, it would be nice to get something for him. But, if not.... c'est la vie

southsider2k5
Man that would be the biggest lead foot OF outside of Comiskey And the sad thing I was just reading the Trib and they said one of the teams that could be looking at Rios is the Cubs
Guest JimH
If that's the case, we should bend the Cubs over the barrel. Let's see ... we'll take ... ummm ... ummm ... ummmm ... Oh, never mind.
