Kyyle23
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) How many times does it seem like the Sox get shut down when some other team pitches some guy you've never heard of? Seems like a lot. Then we go with Masset. You think we'd get a good outing? How about four innings, five hits, three walks. Not great. What did you expect? Greatness? If you did, you deserve to be disappointed. Besides, Masset didnt lose this game, Boone Logan did. Massett did what he was supposed to do, he kept his team in the game
greg775
Kyle, Masset pitched four innings and walked three guys and gave up five hits. Are you a member of his fan club or something?
Kyyle23
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Kyle, Masset pitched four innings and walked three guys and gave up five hits. Are you a member of his fan club or something? You keep repeating his pitching line as if it matters. The game was tied when he left. Masset had nothing to do with the loss. greg775
I keep repeating the line because it is not a quality start. I'm lumping him in with some other guys as one of the reasons we lost.

greg775
Rather than argue with you and bore everybody else, I won't respond to your personal attacks. If you could convince me Masset had a quality start today, I'd listen. Four innings is not a quality start. If he is your next door neighbor, I apologize. fathom
Masset wasn't bad...but he wasn't good. However, when your pitching gives up 4 runs, you should still be able to win.
Chisoxfn
It was a spot start, Masset wasn't stretched out to give 6 innings and pitched pretty solidly over 4 innings. He definately kept the club in the game and showed some pretty good stuff (as well as some poor command). The defense didn't help him either as he could have given up one less run with just a tad bit of help.

If he is your next door neighbor, I apologize. personal attacks? whatever, you keep insisting Im his brother or relative, it has nothing to do with it. I had realistic expectations of his start, 4-5 innings, keep the team in the game, which he did. it was a spot start, he isnt in the rotation
