If one wants to insure the best possible defense for a no-hitter, BA over Swisher isn't even a close call or disrupts the phantom "jinx" at all. Ozzie got booed when he came out to pull Gavin and deservedly so. He didn't do his best to help out Floyd.

Is this your first baseball game or something? He got booed because he was taking Gavin out, it had nothing to do with the defense.

Did the Sox trade Cabrera and Quentin immediately after the game or did I miss something?

Quentin is an american born citizen, who attended american schools. I was obviously referring to players FROM latin countries.

Cabrera, I excluded him from another post, although I haven't seen enough of him to make that decision. My main beef is with Uribe, Ozzie and Pablo, none of which are naturally from the US. Stop turning this s*** into a racist comment, those 3 people are idiots when it comes to baseball. Some could argue for Ozzie, but I sure wouldn't, and from a LOT of people's posts I've seen around here, a lot of people think Ozzie is a moron.

No one is turning it into a racist comment. It was just a terribly moronic, ignorant, and idiotic comment.

So, if he was born here and have Latin parents (and name)...he is not Latin? I'm pretty sure if he starts to suck you will define him as Latin...

Great post.

Like fathom said, enjoy the win. This is stupid to b**** about tonight.

Ifs and buts ... how do you know the ball would have been hit in exactly the same spot at that point in time had Anderson trotted out to center??

Maybe the batter would have seen Anderson's tall frame and pushed a single over Cabrera's head.

Fans were not booing because Anderson was not in center for goshsakes!

Sox win! Time to get even for the sweep in the Humpty Dome.

I knew somebody was gonna mention that. Can't switch the lineup in a no-no. That's a baseball no-no as somebody else pointed out.

Guillen replaced Mackowiak with Anderson in the top of the 8th of Buehrle's no hitter last April.

We only had 11 hits tonight, Walker's gotta be on the way out the door.

This kind of reminds me of a guy I know on another board who waited until 3/4 of the season was over so McCarthy's ERA finally eclipsed that of Danks, and he could be justified in ripping KW for making that trade. But not a peep before that.

Nope. He has a wicked slicing fly ball, Q was shifted left.

Maybe so...and I'm sure it's in the scouting report...but it's not like you're protecting a one run lead or anything. And how often does he actually do it? If that was the case...I didn't like that alignment.

I actually think Ozuna has shown a good baseball IQ in his time here.

Agreed 100%, since he has been here, he has been one of our smartest players IMO.

Quentin went to Stanford, yeah I'm gonna start labeling him an intellectual idiot if he slumps. Logical.

Is that sarcasm? I just can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading on here.

No, I really mean that. You're usually one of the boo-birds even in a victory.

except for the fact that I've been saying for the past few days that firing walker would be an absolutely knee-jerk reaction and would be ridiculous.

but yeah, the similarities are there.

making this too easy.

Really, usually my mood is really good after they win, so I'm generally very positive.

Hakeem Olajuwon went to college at U of Houston. He's not Nigerian?

I stand corrected then on the karma thing.

I guess Oz will get ripped in the media again for not putting in Anderson even after we finally win a game. I still think it would be bush league to take out our morale boosting starting center fielder who was out there for the first eight innings of the no no.

I also still say you can't guarantee me the ball would have been hit in the same spot if Anderson was in the game.
