southsider2k5
What an incredible preformance by Gavin. I really liked seeing the effort to keep it going by Swish, and the fact that right away Floyd wanted the ball back and to keep going. Damn good job kid
southsidehawkeye
That was quite a showing! Well done.

whitesoxfan101
Pisses me off that if Anderson is in CF like he should have been in that spot, he'd be one out from a no hitter. MEH!! However, as for Gavin, he's been great all year and was again tonight. Kudos.
HuskyCaucasian
a no-no through 7.2 against Boston and 8.1 against Min. WOW!
SoxFan562004
Awesome job Gavin. the starting pitching has been vicious all year...
Carlo Paz
Yeah, great job. Now can someone tell how you can possibly justify not having Brian Anderson in the game in the ninth?
Jordan4life_2007
I salute Mr. Floyd.
fathom
Anderson wouldn't have caught that....I'm just thankful Swisher didn't break his shoulder. Great job Gavin, your batting average against is unreal!
Carlo Paz
QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) Anderson wouldn't have caught that....I'm just thankful Swisher didn't break his shoulder. Great job Gavin, your batting average against is unreal! Maybe, maybe not (Anderson is at least 2 steps quicker than Swisher). That's not the issue. If you know that the pitcher has a no hitter and you're up by six runs, HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY NOT PUTTING YOUR BEST DEFENSE ON THE FIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rangercal
I can't believe this is what we turned Freddy Garcia into. Awesome Gavin!

Swisher's range this year in CF has been superb. If there was a move that would have been made, it would have been Anderson in RF for Dye. RME JICO
and everyone said he only pitches good against Detroit........ GF: 3-1, 2.50 ERA, 0.96 WHIP 5th in the AL in ERA, tied for 3rd in WHIP. Danks not far behind. Who could've imagined that our best 2 pitchers would be Floyd and Danks at this point in the season?
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (rangercal @ May 6, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) I can't believe this is what we turned Freddy Garcia into. Awesome Gavin! Hey, we got Gio too, who helped us get Nick Swisher, who long term is going to be a very solid OF/1B for us. That one was quite the trade. Because its a baseball no-no to change the defense when theres a no-hitter in the 9th like that. You just dont change the team on the field. Pretty basic baseball concept. Whitewashed in '05
What a great game by Gavin. Damn it this kid just keeps on teasing us with these possible no-no's. I demand he come through next time. Okok, hell.of.a.ballgame Gavin. :notworthy
Jordan4life_2007
His curve was scary good tonight. I think it's one of the better pitches in all of baseball when he's gettin' it over. The stuff/talent is undeniable. Maybe the "change of scenery" myth does indeed apply in this case.

lostfan
I was more optimistic about Floyd (and Danks) than most. But no damn where THIS optimistic. Holy s***.
WCSox
The Twins announcers were ragging on Ozzie for taking Floyd out after the Mauer double, saying that he should've given him the chance to throw a complete game. Not sure I agree, given that Floyd was already at 105 piches, has never thrown anything close to a 200-inning season, was already on the hook for the win, and Jenks hadn't pitched in a good week or so. Anyway, congrats to Floyd. Coop has done a great job of tapping this kid's potential. And kudos to Swisher for the effort out there. Nice to see that these guys are still playing as a team. kjshoe04
Gavin! He's been amazing all year. Nice to actually have a couple big time prospects in Gavin and CQ coming through for the organization. Especially with our farm system right now.
