wilmot825
On SI.COM in the photos section, the most recent ones entitled "Offbeat Photos." The last 2 are of the White Sox players including John Danks and Nick Swisher getting their facial hair painted pink. And in one picture, a cancer patient is shown painting Swisher's. This makes me feel good to see our Sox giving back to the people, and reaching out to those who are in need of support. This should get more publication than constant A-Rod injury update and Cubs Coverage in Chicago. Go Sox! Pictures are from Si.Com

Cali
Swish just seems like a awesome human being. He may only be batting .200 but he's a great guy in real life....
The Critic
QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ May 9, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) No, they're monsters cause they have blow-up dolls in their locker room. Yeah, they're probably just showing their support for women and breast cancer research as a joke. The media seriously makes me sick sometimes. DrunkBomber
QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ May 9, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) No, they're monsters cause they have blow-up dolls in their locker room. Ya, how can these sexual predators put on a charade like this after how uncomfortable they made women sports writers feel. I hope nobody who was blatantly bashing the locker room incident jumps right on and praises this gesture so openly. This is the guy who was widly suspected to have been responsible for the dolls and at that time he was such a sexist monster. Between this and his contributions to locks for love because of his grandmother it should give you an idea of how ridiculous it was to be up in arms about what happened when you can see what kind of individual Swisher is... whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (The Critic @ May 9, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) The media and some of the posters here/sox fans with no perspective seriously makes me sick sometimes. Fixed. The media being stupid and looking to sell stuff didn't surprise me. Some of the posters here/sox fans did. Swisher and Toby Hall were two of the guys that probably were behind the doll stunt when you consider how goofy they are, yet they paint their facial hair pink for breast cancer awareness? Sexist pigs!! Edited May 10, 2008 by whitesoxfan101

YASNY
I still think dollgate was an embarrasment. I also think this is great, whether anyone wants me to say so or not.

I also think this is great, whether anyone wants me to say so or not. Thats one thing but the words sexual harassment and sexist were thrown around loosely in that thread. People commenting on the character of the players and saying they should be embarrassed for making female reporters feel "uncomfortable" in the mens locker room. Dollgate wasnt a big deal and obviously means nothing in terms of the teams character or views on women which was everyone elses point but people were too quick to jump all over them for having fun.
