Kalapse
It's been almost 2 years since the Sox last won in Seattle.

fathom
Went to the drive in tonight (saw Iron Man which was good, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which was extremely disappointing). Came home to watch the game on DVR. Anderson's defense was sensational tonight. Great win as we have our best pitcher going tomorrow. whitesoxfan101
Always nice to come home to a winner. After seeing the highlights, that catch by Anderson is as good at a catch as I've ever seen a Sox OF make, wow. Anybody that says Anderson doesn't catch the double by Mauer to break up the no hitter needs to look no further than BA tonight to see that's false. As bad as we are out west, Seattle and San Francisco are AWFUL right now. Let's get a series win tomorrow and work towards that 6-4 range on this trip. Jordan4life_2007
Whitesox101, as good as that play was that Anderson made last night, it wasn't as tough as the play he would've had to make on the ball Mauer hit. As much as I love Brian (only Heads loves him more), he can't make every spectacular play.
greg775
I love the way Linebrink mowed through the eighth. Loved the way Bobby didn't mess around in the ninth, homerun was meaningless. I loved Jose's line. Love BA's contributions this year. Nice to see Thome bash a homer. Cmon Sox. String some good baseball games together! As much as I love Brian (only Heads loves him more), he can't make every spectacular play. I love him more than you. I know this because I am the first to suggest that I would like to party with Brian. And I do. Cuz it'd be awesome. I also like when the Sox win, in case anyone didn't know that. I seriously hope Ozzie rethinks his late inning defensive substitutions (or lack thereof) from here on out. BA was solid out there tonight. As for the no-hitter...no sure BA could have tracked that down. Dam...Mauers ball was practically in LF. I still think the outfield should have been playing straight up with a 6 run lead. F the scouting report......
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
JC had all kinds of love for BA in the dugout after the inning was over. He hugged him gently and closely. (Just want to make you BA lover's envious ).
Kyyle23
Can we just let the "BA would have made the catch" sentiment die already? The f***ing game is over, it was a brilliant one hitter that the Sox won, the substitution wasnt made, and your theories on who would and who wouldnt have made the catch are just that, theories. Who knows if BA doesnt slip on a crossover first step and end up watching it drop just like Nick Swisher. Nobody does, because BA wasnt in, thats why. Its a situation that never happened so all it will ever be is speculative, sorry BA wasnt in, but thats the way it happened. /end rant Great win last night, Contreras pitched out of some tough situations and while his stuff didnt even look dominant, it certainly got the job done. BA had all kinds of range out there and his catch at the wall was game-saving. The 3-4-5 hitters looked much better taking the ball the other way last night, and they all look like they are slowly straightening their swings out. Hopefully Jared Washburn doesnt pull his usual game vs the Sox out of his ass and gets lit up like he should.
elrockinMT
Always nice to win a game. But, I don't like the fact our ace closer gave up a run and a homer at that. Meaningless or not when you bring in the big gun you want to see him shut down the other team completely. I did not get to see that game so I don't know the situation or the pitch sele3ction all that stuff, but I never like to see the opposing team get a score off the bullpen. He was pumping in fastballs that were anywhere from 94 to 98 on the gun last night. It was an oppo shot. And a hell of a swing. Its not like he hung a pitch, or grooved a 91 mph fastball down the cock.
Controlled Chaos
That catch was f***in sick!!!!! BA you earned your pay. Nice win... I Liked some of the oppo shots the last couple games...maybe these guys are starting to get it.
greg775
I'm glad they got a meaningless run off Bobby. If you are ever going to give up a run, that was time. He's not going to pitch the whole month without giving up a run, so I'm glad he got one out of the way there.

I have been thinking this same thing for awhile. It seemed to me from my limited ability to watch games that Jenks was falling in love with the curveball too much. I wanted to see the return of the big heater. If in fact it was a freak homer that's one thing, but still never a good thing.
