QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 11, 2008 -> 06:35 PM)
Here's what I'd like to see in tomorrow's line-up:

SS Cabrera

LF Quentin

RF Dye

1B Konerko

DH Thome/Swisher

C Pierzynski

3B Crede

CF Anderson

2B Uribe

Anderson is back to the bench. He was being pinch hit for while Swisher who has looked helpless at the plate was able to bat. Get ready for your usually broadcasted normal lineup for the next few days. Dye should be in the 3 hole.

They probably win today if Dye is playing. That's not an indictment on Ozzie because he has to rest, but more on Thome for being useless in big situations. I'm a couple weeks away from hopping on Thome's retirement bandwagon.

He'll probably hit 5 or 6 homers in the next 2 weeks. He's as streaky as they come. I think Wassermann gets until the end of this road trip to get people out. Obviously his performance didn't have an effect on today's outcome, but he hasn't been very good. If he has another bad outing or 2, it probably will be time to insert Broadway into the bullpen.

It was good to win the series, but it would have been nice to sweep and get that extra win on the trip, considering we likely will lose at least 3 of 4 to the Angels.

Why do the Sox strand so many runners?

I know, that's why I'll give Thome the benefit of the doubt for now. His bat just looks slow and, more important, his strike zone judgment hasn't been good.

Konerko ain't looking so hot either and when is the last time he had a good game or hit a homer? Thome is almost a K machine anymore. I know slumps happen to everyone, but these two are making it worse than it has to be.

Floyd was mediocre today. Too many baserunners and losing hitter with 2 strikes on them. Just wasn't a good performabce highlighted by the Sox unable to get the big hits again

Just seems like a mediocre at best team.

Hopefully the other teams in the division continue playing no better than .500ish ball as well.

Nobody in the division is doing anything right now except hanging around first place.

Konerko has been coming around. At the very least, at least he has been putting the bat on the ball.
