BigEdWalsh
For Charlotte, Whisler (5-1, 1.77) takes on Toledo. McCulloch (1-4, 4.62) gets the nod for Birmingham. Poreda (2-2, 2.72) will start for Winston-Salem. Rice (1-3, 4.25) will start for Kannapolis.
scenario
This will be a good test for Whisler. He's fattened up his W-L record by beating some bad teams. He's 1-1 against good teams. He's got a relatively high WHIP and his K/BB is approximately 1.0. So, hard to tell whether he is pitching well or overachieving at this point. JPN366
McCulloch's gonna get lit up again. I say 4 runs in the first inning. I'll let you guys know if I see any improvement. West Tenn can hit, thankfully Clayton Richard settled down yesterday after a rough first inning and the offense picked him up.
BearSox
man, I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would be sooo awesome if we had Joba Chamberlin right now instead of McCulloch.
scenario
QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 11, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) McCulloch's gonna get lit up again. I say 4 runs in the first inning. I'll let you guys know if I see any improvement. So if he does well today, is that because you're wrong about him, or because he got lucky? (Just yankin' your chain... McCulloch hater.) JPN366
QUOTE (scenario @ May 11, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) So if he does well today, is that because you're wrong about him, or because he got lucky? (Just yankin' your chain... McCulloch hater.) Expect the worst, hope for the best. He pitched like a 1st rounder today. Keep in mind that this is the only organization in all of MLB that has a rookie put up big numbers, then sends him down to AAA the following year. I have a hard time having any faith in the 1st rounders that Kenny Williams picks. Edited May 11, 2008 by JPN366
JPN366
Oh yeah, the recap from the Charlotte game says Bourgeois left the game with a leg injury. Awesome...

Charlotte beat Toledo 10-6. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...tolaaa_chraaa_1 I always enjoy beating Toledo (Tigers' farmclub). Palehosefan
Looks like the walks are starting to creep up on Rice again. Hopefully it was just an anomaly.
