I called it pop as well.

Not sure what's going on Sheridan or Wells county, but in Burleigh (pronounced like Buehrle) we call it pop. And so do I.

Anybody else who calls it anything else who may even think about calling it anything else...is wrong.

Any bubbly drink (soda, pop, whatever) made with Cane Sugar smokes the corn syrup versions. Sprecher makes a cola, Puma Cola, which is incredible and a dang close clone of the original cola styles.

I really, really, really want to try some of this stuff:

I need to just bite the bullet and order a case.

As for what to call it...well...since it is made with soda water...ummmm

I call it soda, but I rarely drink it... I ask for it by name if I do. Coke/Mountain Dew/Barqs etc.

I have no problem with "Pop", but that's a little too general of a term. Asking for a pop is like going to a bar and saying "Gimme a Beer"

There's more than one kind. You gotta be specific.

Any one ever hit that coca cola place in Vegas? I went there years ago, but I remember being able to try different drinks from all over the world. Some weird flavors out there.

That's like Club Cool at Epcot.

I used to say pop, now I say soda. Not sure why, all my friends call it pop. I just like the way soda sounds more than pop.

I don't even know you anymore.

I call it pop, and prefer Pepsi. Even though my #1 choice is Dr. Pepper.

See, pop/soda really isn't a term you should use in public areas, unless it's fountain drink and you have to buy the drink at the counter. If you're at a friends house, they'll say "do you want a (pop/soda/vodka-Sprite) or beer or water or something?" and you say "(whatever)." That's pretty much the only time I ever really refer to it as pop(/soda/Morgan-Coke)

I couldn't help reading this thread and remembering a scene from Billy Madison:

Janitor: Miss Libby's car...is green...Billy likes to drink soda!

Yeah, I've been cutting back recently on the pop because I just find Gatorade tastes better and milk is better for you than pop with pizza. I can't stand water unless I'm umpiring on a hot day and it's what I need to keep my mouth hydrated.
