DrunkBomber
They might as well fix the first two races every year because if the same horse doesnt win them nobody is gonna care about Belmont. So we will see if Big Bonds, errr Big Brown can get the triple crown. I might add it would be the first triple crown winner in any sport since Jose Valentin led the league in mustache rides, solo home runs and sheer awesomeness in the late 90s. 29andPoplar
After watching these triple crown races with the wife for 20+ years, you begin to listen to what's important to her, and the main key for her today was all the horses coming out of this race intact, and Big Brown winning. A great ending. She is rooting for Big Brown to get the triple crown, not too many have happened in our lifetime, or anyone's lifetime for that matter. DrunkBomber
I just find it kind of hard to get into a sport or even care about who wins when stuff like this is so openly rampant. Prior to the Preakness Stakes, Dutrow admitted that he administers stanozolol, an anabolic steroid, to his horses, including Big Brown, on the 15th of every month[12]. Stanozolol is banned in 10 states but not in any of the states where the Triple Crown races are held Thats from Big Browns wikipedia page if someone wants a link

Steve9347
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 18, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) Big Brown is unbelievable. It's funny how Big Brown kicked it up a notch and just blew everyone away. I was at a racetrack near Dallas, and they didn't even run any races during the Preakness, so ya kinda felt like you were there. Everyone was buzzing with triple crown talk after that mammoth victory.
Swingandalongonetoleft
I picked Giacomo a few years back for the Derby. For about a week after that race I though anything I touched would turn to gold. Since then it's been baaad. I picked Recapturetheglory for the Derby. Didn't even bother with the Preakness this year.
Soxbadger
Well the hardest part of the Triple Crown is the Belmont Stakes. Derby and Preakness are both shorter races so I believe there are more horses who have completed that 2/3 of the Triple Crown as compared to winning the Derby and Belmont, or Preakness and Belmont. I really havent read much about Brown, or seen his race times so not sure if the longer distance will bother him.

He was being held back for 90 percent of this past race and still blew the doors off the other horses. There is simply no horse as fast as he is.
