fathom
Was it the 45th game last season where Aardsma blew the save in Detroit? Anyways, it's great to surpass something from last season.

southsidehawkeye
Great game! It'd sure be nice to get the sweep tomorrow.
Whitewashed in '05
What a job by Javy out there to grind it out until his team got him some runs. Javy, JD, and ofcourse the bullpen!! Make it 8 tomorrow when I'm there! :headbang
joejoesox
cool, we finally get a headline on mlb.com, it only took a 7 game winning streak and 2 bombs by Dye to get one lol
BearSox
So, um... Chris who? Oh yeah, Chris B. Young, the guy batting .247 and on pace to K 179 times. Edited May 22, 2008 by BearSox
The Beast
QUOTE (Hanky Panky @ May 21, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) I'll be at Saturday's game for the 10-game win streak! Hell yes, let's show all those bastards out there that the Sox are the best on the game of the week. (Right, isn't it on Fox and isn't it the game of the week?) RME JICO
Another great win. Kinda nice to get some late scoring. That seemed to be lacking last year. Once teams got to their bullpens, the game was over for us. Not this year. It looks like Thome is heating up and Dye is going on one of his tears. Couple that with consistent ABs from CQ, AJ, and Crede and we are looking pretty solid. Pitching has been unbelievable.

greg775
Wow, Dye with the bombs. Thome with a bomb. Seven runs making the most of nine hits. Javy doing great and the bullpen responding. Winning streaks are so much fun! Keep it up, if you can, White Sox.
BurlyMan56
If Thome is going to left and hitting lefties, good things could happen
whitesoxfan101
This pitching is just unreal. Second night in a row Thome hit an oppo home run too, maybe he's coming around a bit. Man this team could be really good if we get some consistent offense, and the offense is improving recently.
joejoesox
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) This pitching is just unreal. Second night in a row Thome hit an oppo home run too, maybe he's coming around a bit. Man this team could be really good if we get some consistent offense, and the offense is improving recently. he's starting to realize how pitchers attack him, fastballs hard and on the inside corner, generally called for balls, and soft stuff away for strikes or swinging strikes if he shortens up his swing on the inside pitches, and goes opposite field with those away pitches, he could effortlessly hit a lot of bombs the other way
Kalapse
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) This pitching is just unreal. Second night in a row Thome hit an oppo home run too, maybe he's coming around a bit. Man this team could be really good if we get some consistent offense, and the offense is improving recently. Not to mention they both came off left handed pitchers.
greg775
If Thome is going to left and hitting lefties, good things could happen Amen. Hope the big guy finally has gotten it through his head he's so powerful he can smash homers to left, leftcenter as well as right. Nice column by Couch the other day on Thome and the Thome shift. SoxFanForever
Anybody see Thome give Swish the jumping bump after he came back in the dugout after his bomb? Priceless
witesoxfan
but Thome sucks?
southsider2k5
If we can get Thome going in the middle of this line up too, that's just scary. He can literally carry a team for weeks at a time.
Harry Chappas
The scarier thought is if the potential of this offense (OC, Swisher and Konerko) join Thome in getting hot or at least warm with the pitching potnetial....look out. Masset and Thorton have looked like they could be as effective as anyone out of the pen and sans the Baltimore Orioles Linebrink and Jenks are looking lights out. Dotel still seems to be erratic but he has come through when he has needed to, kind of like Damso Marte when Marte was going good. Logan and Wasserman are good two inning guys when the game is out of hand. I'd really like to see Masset getting more meaningful innings (ie start the 7th or 8th). What a friggin difference a week makes.
Vance Law
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 22, 2008 -> 12:25 AM) but Thome sucks? That is correct. Didn't you read the Sun-Times article? Top 5 hitter in the AL over the past 2 seasons but he is now definitely washed up and can't hit anymore.
