Chisoxfn
Well I don't think he'll get fired unless the Sox don't make the playoffs.
clujer420
If he was going to be fired during the season, it would have happened a month or so ago when we were playing horrid baseball. Now that we're actually showing some life and have made the recent acquisitions, I doubt they fire JM unless something unexpected happens (like us losing 20 in a row or something). KipWellsFan
Didn't Kenny Williams say that Manuel has his confidence til the end of the year at least??
witesoxfan
Didn't Kenny Williams say that Manuel has his confidence til the end of the year at least?? Yeah, he said he's sticking by Manuel all year, and if the Sox don't make the playoffs, Manuel gets the axe.

Chisoxfn
When will KW be fired? I for one hope he isn't fired. I think Williams will be the general manager of this team for a while.
Guest wsc425
KW Isn't fired but nice try and happy hunting for a new better GM. JM is clearing his office out ASAP, and he will be fired at the end of the year.
pearso66
Id have to agree, JM should be gone if we don't make the playoffs. I would like to see Kenny stay around awhile to see his gutsyness on trades again. As I've stated, I only have a beef with a couple of his trades. But most were great on paper. YASNY
Williams is not that damn smart, guys. I'm sorry. Who would you rather have at second base today, Durham or Alomar. Personally, I'd rather have Ray. Now, look at what we got for Durham from Oakland, then look at what we had to give up to the Mets for Alomar. We got much less for a better player than we paid for the aging former star. If we don't make the playoffs, both JM and KW should be gone. Just MHO. Look at what we got for Lofton (Meaux and Diaz) Look at what we got for Sandy (Pacheco and Sandy back) Look at what we got for Guerrier (Yan and Marte) Look at what we got for Wells Fogg and Lowe (Ritchie???)lol p.s. Who were the other players in the Olivo and Chad Bradford deal? and who did we get for Howry?

He's one of the guys Texas is alooking at in the Everett deal, isn't he?

KW has a good idea of prospects, that or he's got some help from someone who does (Hahn).
southsider2k5
I might take some heat for this, but I think KW seems to be able to deals just fine, except when he is trading away someone who pissed him off. Then he seems to be irrational and willing to pawn off players on the first team that is willing to take them. Look at guys like Foulke and Wells for examples of that. If that's the case, then he needs to be fired. However pissed off he is at someone, he still needs to get at least equal value, more if he can swing it. Jim Fainter
Howry got us that Korean pitcher, An, who has some potential, but all those little trades aren't significant yet. Giving up three prime prospects for Everett, and sitting Ev so Konerko can get some at bats in the middle of the lineup Tuesday night..... Uh he did that becauase Ev has hit a lot better from the left side than from the right side this year, and we were facing a left handed pitcher. Plus with Daubach being LH also there was no one else to play out there.
