Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Weavers been nasty I'm pretty sure that pitchers have great confidence pitching against our lineup. So you get less nibbling, ahead in counts and that makes it all the easier.
Jordan4life_2007
Is Masset's fastaball really reaching 93? Gameday must be messed up. I've never seen him throw that hard. I guess it doesn't matter when you're walking guys.

Balta1701
Boone versus Vlad is not a matchup I'd like. Ditto Boone versus Hunter.

Whitewashed in '05
Weaver follows Saunders with a good game of his own. Good pitching is gonna be tough to beat with how many hitters are struggling in our lineup. Gotta take at least tomorrow's game.
joejoesox
we get swept tomorrow and we're still in first place, that's how bad this division is right now. sad.
RME JICO
Seemed like the ump wanted to get this one over. Several calls outside of the zone on each batter, ugh. Another great effort by the pitching staff done in by the offense.

fathom
Sadly, I went to the game. The parking was just awful, and the game was worse. This offense is atrocious. I don't know who's worse in clutch situations, Thome or OC? Danks was solid, but he has to stay stronger towards the 100 pitch marker than he does. Dick Allen
I wouldn't want to have to pay his contract, but Gary Matthews Jr. is truely one of the best defensive OFs I have ever seen.

It's telling when you have to compare your DH who is also the team's highest paid player to a SS who was brought in for his supposed defense and leadership to see who is the team's worst clutch hitter. One is as bad as the other, but all Thome is paid $14M to do is hit. He can't do anything else anyway. Thome is a great guy and was a good hitter in his prime, but that and a quarter won't even get you a cup of coffee in 2008.
