whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 25, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) The Left Field bleachers were passing around a blow up doll from row to row, like a beachball. hilarious. I did not notice that from my seats behind the 1st base dugout, too bad, but that is hilarious. There was a guy behind the 3rd base dugout, he had a sign that said "draft D Rose" and his friend had a sign that said something like "Yankees and Red Sox highlights next on sportscenter" and I found that quite funny too. Great crowd tonight. Edited May 26, 2008 by whitesoxfan101
Shamrock4Life
and everytime a right handed pitcher was up, those signs were in the background.

ScottyDo
"A Memorial Day weekend crowd of 36,195 enjoyed itself, cheering as a plastic blowup doll was tossed around the left-field bleachers and then booing when an usher grabbed it." kapkomet
At first, I thought Hillary Clinton was at the Sox game, from the topic name.
maggsmaggs
I was there and it was really funny, but at first my friend said he saw it go down between the bleachers and the wall. I didn't see this, but my friend at first was saying that someone fell down the well, but he also said it looked fake, then somehow, the fans got the doll back. Anderson seemed amused about it. Harry Chappas
The wave was thwarted as well. This happened Thursday too. The blow up doll was pretty funny especially with the way the Sox offense looked.

Swingandalongonetoleft
The crowds boos were louder for when the doll got take away than for Torii Hunter. I'd love to have seen the players reactions if it dropped onto the field.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Texsox @ May 26, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) Another classy image for Sox fans to be proud of . . . You say this like you think the fan base cares about our image. At this point, the vast majority of us clearly don't. There really is no point in caring either, we're always going to be 2nd class here anyways. One thing that is clear though is the Carol Slezak for dolls rights side of this debate lost the argument in the court of public opinion. I guess the Cubs do it right though at their park. They'll kick you out if you boo or say something bad about Soriano in the LF bleachers, but they don't care when fans throw garbage and baseballs on the field. Throwing crap on the field while players are on it is clearly less dangerous to society than dolls. 3E8
I don't think it's just the Southside, is much about any baseball game atmosphere classy? Cheering/heckling, cheap beer, hot dogs, etc. don't exactly scream upper-crust

Now that is the epitome of class. I guess I missed it when they started serving tea and crumpets on 35th and Shields

3E8
Haha I was using the shoddy or low quality definition of cheap rather than inexpensive to purchase. I don't want to know what they charge these days

Texsox
Be proud guys! If that's what y'all think is good public entertainment. Sorry for insulting your entertainment choices. I can't wait for y'all to give those to your kids for Christmas. Ha Ha Ha. Hey Mom, isn't that one of those dolls that perverts f*** when they can't get dates? Yes son, and Sox fans embrace those as funny and make fun of people who disagree. We'll stop at the store and buy you one for the next game.
