Democratic Rules and Bylaws Committee

Another Michigan compromise -- splitting the state's delegates 50-50 between Obama and Clinton - was three votes shy of receiving majority support from the Rules and Bylaws Committee, The Huffington Post was told.

All reports seem to point to FL being a done deal (awarded as voted, but delegate votes count as half). The hang up is MI. Ickes, Tina Flournoy and Clinton camp appear unwilling to budge on 73 for Clinton and none for Obama.

If MI gets awarded 64-64 and cut in half, Obama clinches the nomination today. Well, not TECHNICALLY, but he would have 50.65% of all possible pledged delegates.

If MI gets awarded 69-59 to Clinton and cut in half, Obama clinches the nomination today with 50.58% of all possible pledged delegates.

MSNBC is reporting a MI deal.

69-59 counted as half.

This would make the "finish line" 2118 delegates. Obama currently has 2046. Obam needs 72 delegates to close the deal.

MSNBC also projects that Obama will get 9 of Edwards 13 delegates in FL. That makes 2049.5 out of 2118 needed.

Factor in the upcoming primary projections. Obama would need only 30 of the remaining 218.5 delegates to win.

RBC officially rejects the proposal that FL counts 100% as is.

For: 12

Against: 15

Clinton assclowns cheer for those who vote for and boo the against. Sit down and shut-up!

Clinton supporters are now shouting "Denver". Dumbasses.

RBC officially accepts the proposal that FL seats ALL delegates, but they count as half. All superdelegates count as half as well.

For: 27

Against: 0

Delegate Allocation

Clinton: 52.5

Obama:33.5

Edwards: 6.5

so what's the impact of that? Was that Hill's one last shred of hope?

Pretty much everyone knew roughly what was going to happen with Florida. Her "Last shred" of hope was to get the entire michigan delegation seated for her while simultaneously giving none of the uncommitted delegates to Obama, which was never going to happen.

69-59 with their votes counted as half.

PS: One member is RIPPING Ickes apart for his "hijack" comments. :headbang

thanks for you help guys, this stuff is complicated and I haven't read up much on it, it's great to have you guys fill in the blanks... I assume if that MI goes through that doesn't help Hill at all and is pretty much a wash. It ups the needed delegates though, right?

RBC officially accpets the proposal that MI is divided 69-59 in favor of Clinton with each vote being counted as half. No mention of superdelegets.

For: 19

Against: 8

Delegate Allocation"

Clinton: 34.5

Obama: 29.5

Total Pledged Delegates:

Obama 1723.5 (50.55% of all possible pledged delegates including PR, MT, and SD)

Clinton 1587.5 (46.56% of all possible pledged delegates)

Games Over... unless the Clinton campaign continues to throw a hissy-fit which is VERY likely.

PS: Mr Icky claims Clinton was "hijacked" of her delegates and says Hillary Clinton is keeping her rights to take this to the credentials committee.

If Clinton takes MI to the credentials committee and gets them seated in FULL and 73-0, Obama would need only 5 "uncommitted" delegates from MI if Obama gets 40% from PR, and 55% from MT and SD.

If MI is seated "as is" and counted as half, it wouldnt matter. Clinton could get EVERY delegate from MI and still fall below the needed 50%+1.

God did the Hillary supporters there look completely classless.

oh way less than classless. I respect the right to protest and have yourself heard. BUT, I do NOT respect your right to interrupt meetings.

They got heard. Ickes and his fellow liars made their case, his argument was like a screen though. Transparent and didn't hold water. Hence the "no" votes.

The Obama campaign was DAMN smart to tell their people all week to keep it cool and under control, with no protests.

Obama... willing to meet half way, unlike those other guys.

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200...31/1091448.aspx

Per multiple sources inside the closed Rules and Bylaws Committee lunch, Obama actually had the votes to get a 50-50 delegate split out of Michigan -- but by just a vote or two.

However, it was decided to go with the 69-59 split to win a larger majority. That measure passed 19-8.

*** UPDATE *** Also, according to those with knowledge of the Michigan agreement, it is fair to claim Clinton the winner of Michigan. But they caution against counting her popular vote in the state.
