Reddy
i thought her speech was exactly what she needed to do. she'll concede w/in the next few days, but with the speech, keep your supporters feeling good because they're already depressed, might as well let them have one more heartfelt cheer. she wasn't defiant like pundits claimed, she'll do whats best for the party and that's what she said. I agree. She may have not done herself any big favors tonight, but the pundits got a little too excited.

Hi, this is Hilary, please leave a message... I love Rachel Maddow. She said just said Clinton wont answer his call until 3AM. Update: MOMENTS after she said that it is reported that Obama and Hillary have indeed talked and agreed to meet "soon" Edited June 4, 2008 by Athomeboy_2000
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) Clinton's Refusal To Concede "Deranged Narcissim" David Gergen's response is classic!!! Toobin was an absolute grouch tonight, but he had a good point there. As for Clinton tonight........well if the democrats lose in November, this speech of hers tonight will be the thing you want to look back at as a big reason why. Her crybaby attitude could be contagious with her supporters (ie they might switch to McCain/not vote in decent numbers), and Obama obviously needs a lot of her people in November, as they are the old line base of the Democratic party. I have said for a while, and believe more and more by the day, she wants Obama to lose so she can do this all again in 2012. Then again, she might just concede by the end of the week, but her rhetoric tonight wasn't wise for the unity of the party, regardless of what she does. NorthSideSox72
Watched both speeches last night. Clinton's was awful. Seriously awful. And no, I don't think she was really going to fully concede last night - I get that. That's not what made it awful. What made it awful was her insistence (which is still incorrect) that she won the popular vote, her insistence that she was the better candidate, and her veiled threat about having "her" 18 million voices heard. What a classless, undermining, narcissistic and thunderously arrogant thing to do. She should be embarrassed. Truly, I saw a speech that tells me just one thing - she is trying to force her way to a VP slot, and in parallel, set up a 2012 run for herself. That speech was the grand finale of her scorched earth campaign. My only hope is, it was SO bad, that even her supporters start to realize how off her rocker she is. Obama's speech was pretty good. One of his better ones. And he was about as gracious towards Clinton as he could be. He sure did lay into McCain, though.

This was the trademark of the Clinton Administration, and for a long, long time, it was cheered. I don't get why everyone is so shocked that this is the way they conducted their business, when it has been their history, and to be honest, what they got rewarded for in the past. The whole point of Hillary running was to get Bill Clinton 2.0. They got him, now everyone is upset. LMAO.

He supporters started shouting "Denver. Denver". At that moment, she could have quieted them down. Eased the situation and made it clear Obama has won. Instead... she basked in the glow and sucked it all.
