southsideirish71
Alexei, starting to heat up. Quentin, already hot. nice job by Gavin pitching over some early defensive blunders. Nice game

RockRaines
Seriously, Alexei is not only awesome, but he's keeping Uribe out of the lineup for a double positive.

whitesoxbrian
Twins lose, Tribe down 4 in the 7th, and Detroit tied at 0's in the 4th. Come on Texas, finish 'em off, and come on Oakland, get a few runs!
bschmaranz
If only Swish could start hitting, I'd have called this a superb offseason for Kenny (Alexei and CQ raking, Cabrera starting to turn it on).
GreatScott82
Ramirez is continuing to impress me at the plate and his defense isn't too bad either... Kudos to KW for aqcuiring some cheap talent with a lot of promise (Danks, Floyd, Quentin and Ramirez). Now if only Swish can get going! And I really am starting to think Konerko should go to the DL... And Thome... well i just think his best days are waaaay behind him and KW should seriously start looking for the DH of the future at the ASB. Lets all think in theory here. Konerko to DH, Thome to pitch hitting role. BA starts playing everyday and hits like its spring training. We are a much more versatile, quick, diverse offense than before.

greg775
Can you imagine if we were to win the division and it was largely because of Ramirez, Quentin, Floyd, Danks and Contreras? It's nice to see a guy like Ramirez hit so well of late he appears to have won a job. And I still think if given a ton of at bats BA might be a surprise this year as well. whitesoxfan101
Big win obviously. Ramirez is interesting because he doesn't walk, yet he still gives a lot of longer, quality at bats because he fouls off so many pitches. He seems to have won a job, and you wonder if he'll eventually get a shot at leadoff. As I said, he doesn't really walk, but OC isn't getting on base much, plus Alexei is hitting for great average lately while giving long AB's and has a lot of speed. whitesoxfan101
Alexei at #9 isn't a bad idea either, because our team has shown that certain parts of the order can rally certain days, but other parts don't do anything and we thus leave a lot of men on base. The lineup balance of having somebody as hot hitting as Alexei at the bottom of the order doesn't hurt.

Melissa1334
QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) good call on that one. Injuries have saved our lineup this season so far (Owens, Uribe) that one was huge. it would be swish in lf and owens in cf and cq probly never would have gotten much of an opportunity. whew! elrockinMT
Nice offense for a change and the win makes everyone happy. However, Konerko and Thome continue their struggles at a combined 0-7. But, if others can pick up the slack maybe it will help PK and JT to relax and the hits will come. We do have a line up that can put up some runs and being at home is sure nice. There's another component to this that no one mentions It's great that Alexei actually slumped in the first few games. Otherwise, we still wouldnt have seen CQ. He probably would have been sent down for Owens shortly thereafter, had Alexei hit even decently.
