Sox' road record

At 17-17, the Sox are one of only 4 teams in the majors playing .500 or better on the road. And with 17 victories, they rank second in total wins. Here are the others:

1. LA Angels 20-11

2. Phillies 16-13

3. Cardinals 15-14

4. White Sox 17-17

with the injuries the angels have had to their pitching and to kendrick and aybar...that team is really good....20-11, though a small sample size, is pretty darn good

Thanks to our schedule we played so much more away games.

I can say I like the idea, and I think we're going to have a good JUNE, and our away record puts the team in good shape for the second part of the season.

Considering how they have started and who they play, they could be set up for a HUGE June. They only real good team they play this month is the Cubs and the Dodgers because it is in LA. If they keep the hot streak with the bats look out.

Does anyone else think this is aberational, to have only 4 teams in baseball at .500 or above on the road on June 8th? 2 of the 3 clubs at .600 or better have losing road records (BoSox, Cubs). When did baseball get such a home field advantage?

Normally there are about 8-10 teams with road records of .500 or better at the end of the year, so 4 is pretty low. The good thing for the Sox is that we not only have more home games for the remainder of the season, we also have an easier SoS.

Anyone know how many games they play on the road the second half of the season?

32 of 67 games are on the road in the second half

so 35 home/32 road, nearly .500

starting today, we play 15 more games on the road of 32 total games through to July 18th, so we'll be going 17home-15away up to July 18th

Here's a chart of what's left. Given the home/road split that's left (compared to our AL Central rivals), it looks like we are in very good shape to win the AL Central. After today, we'll have 7 games in Minnesota, with none in Chicago, so they are probably our chief rivals at this point. Given the way we've pounded them this week, however, that doesn't seem like much of a threat.
