FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE (SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) ...not a sox fan here, but no fair-weathered cheerleadin' a$$clown either. I don't believe in the Cubs doing $h!t till it actually happens. What I'm sayin' is if this actually happened - no worries. You could count on the sox sending the Cubs home with their tails between their legs just like in '06. Ah yes. . . the big series back in Nineteen-ought-six. I remember it like it was yesterday. . . fathom
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 03:06 AM) I think this year's Sox-Cub series will tell us a lot about the Sox. The games are rare regular season games that will have playoffs/WS intensity, though the Cubs don't know what WS intensity is. With the first games in Wrigley, we're going to be challenged. Hope our pitchers avoid the gopher ball and our big guys hit a batch of homers. I wonder how many combined World Series appearances the Sox roster has compared to the Cubs? I know Soriano was in the WS, as was D. Lee, Edmonds, ?
TCQ
This would have all the makings of a drastically terrible cataclysm of events that would eventually end up with the Four Horsemen (Pestilence[White Horse], War[Red Horse]. Famine[black Horse], and Death[Pale Green Horse]) ravaging the world, mere minutes after the rapture takes all the righteous souls up to heaven and leaves the sinful LEFT BELOW!!!!! Or maybe we could just start a riot and break some windows and steal tvs and stuff. Or maybe nothing will happen its really a crapshoot. I gave a brief description of the horsemen in case the apocalypse does happen, in which case many of the members of soxtalk will need to be prepared (BearSox) to make a final stand, which will abruptly end in the face of the ungodly torture and anguish......Go Sox
DaTank
I'd hate to say it but, if a Sox-Cubs WS were to happen, I think the Cubs would win. They have fate and an even 100 years on their side.

FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) I'd hate to say it but, if a Sox-Cubs WS were to happen, I think the Cubs would win. They have fate and an even 100 years on their side. The hundred year thing is not something I'd call on their side. The Very Cosmos have it in for the Cubs. Fate will let them sniff a championship, but the very balance of the Universe itself depends on a cosmically monumental collapse of the team just shy of that goal. All the Cubdom talk about "a hundred years of futility" are destined to turn into talk of "the first hundred years of futility" by the end of the season, no matter how well they are playing at the moment. greg775
A Sox-Cubs world series would be so great it's beyond explanation. Just the intros to the games on FOX would be amazing. I remember those intros to the games in The Cell during the Series. They were awesome. I love seeing the city in those intros and stories on the city going nuts. I think that series could go either way. If the Cubs' big bats were quiet, we'd win it I think in five. I think this year's Cubs-Sox games are going to be incredible. We need to play better against those clowns this year than a year ago.
claydude14
We don't talk about last year!
DrunkBomber
Ill tell you one thing. If this managed to happen we can forget about the Olympics. We would be talking about 1-2 weeks of bar brawls, rioting, hate crimes, vandalism and looting with the whole country and a lot of the world watching. In 05 I couldnt handle Cubs fans at the bars who were just there to root against the Sox (even though a division rival was in it too) Imagine what would happen. There would honestly be fights in tons of bars every night.
Linnwood
A Sox/Cubs WS would be the only way I would be happy to see the Cubs make it to the WS.
