DaTank
THESE are the Tigers I've been expecting all year. Yesterday they gave us some opportunities and we didn't capitalize. Tonight their hitting is solid and Verlander is dominant. If they take 2 of 3 games out of the series or get a sweep, I think it will jolt some life into this team. Watch out. fathom
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) I don't like the matchup tomorrow. I see Mark getting hit around pretty good tomorrow. Just not our series. The pitching is a big concern, but hopefully the Sox get fat off the NL. They need to. Rockies have Holliday and Hawpe back, so that series doesn't seem as easy as it might have two weeks ago (when Cubs faced them). I would be so delighted if we find a way to win tomorrow. The Tigers seem like they might be able to just single Buehrle to death tomorrow. Too bad they don't have J. Jones still. 29andPoplar
Possible good news for the Sox....Soriano just got hit in the hand, hopefully it's broke or effects him for the next few weeks when we play them 6 times Not that this is the thread for this question, but is he out of the game, or ? Cochise
Anyone notice the Trib making a big deal about the Cubs winning their 9th in a row at Wrigley? If we win Friday it will be our 9th in a row at home. Do I expect the same coverage? Hardly.

If we win Friday it will be our 9th in a row at home. Do I expect the same coverage? Hardly. No...because they'll be winning their 11th home game in a row. I kind of forgot about that.

BearSox
How does our offense regress so much after 2 days? It's not like Verlander is doing anything special. Our offense is just hacking at everything right now, and looking foolish. I wish Hawk would shut-up about baseball now being a battle of bullpens. I was watching Comcast Sports Net's 'Sports Night Live' and they did a 15 minute segment on Soriano when he was starting to get hot, and a 5 minute segment on how well Quentin was playing. Cubs coverage always comes first on any new station before the Sox as well. Being put below these guys just gives us more reasons to hate them. I like their week long features on the Cubs coaching staff. The coverage will just get more intense, as they have the best record in baseball and it looks like they'll cruise into the playoffs.
