KipWellsFan
They released Darren Ingram and to fill his spot on the roster Tommy Nicholson was demoted from Charlotte. Ingram was leading the club in homeruns with 9 but was only hitting 207. Nicholson was not getting any playing time in Charlotte as he hit only 140. info from: http://www.barons.com/main.shtml
SuperSteve
I take it thats not a big deal? I don't know either guy, anyone think either will ever make it to the Sox?
KipWellsFan
No I don't think it's a very big deal, but it may be to make room for Rios at Charlotte, but I'm not sure. This might also have been the move to make room for Carlos Castillo not sure. Anyone know who is replacing Nicholson on the Charlotte roster? Chisoxfn
No idea who is replacing Nicholson. But like you said neither are major league prospects but more minor league vets.
MnSoxFan
Charlotte played an OF today named Nate Murphy, was with Angels farm system for a few years and with DBacks the last 2. He has decent OBP but not much else, he played LF today in the 4-0 loss.
Rex Hudler
Barons also sent Kris McWhirter down to Winston-Salem and activated Scott Dunn, acquired from the Reds yesterday.
Jim Fainter
Rex, do we have too many pitchers? Is that the method of the madness to trade away pitching prospects?
DaSox35
ingram has been in our system for awhile and hasnt improved he's a decent home run hitter for the minors but has no big league potential
Rex Hudler
Rex, do we have too many pitchers? Is that the method of the madness to trade away pitching prospects? Pitching is certainly where our depth is.
