Greg Hibbard
oddly enough, I'm annoyed but not really worried at this point. I would've been way more concerned had we gotten dominated by the twins. We were sort of due for a bad series. That all said, we need to dominate against two bad NL teams at the Cell.
WCSox
I don't understand Ozzie's fascination with Dotel. Sure, he's improved significantly since the first month or so, but still. I want Linebrink in there to face Maggs and Cabrera.
Frankensteiner
I guess it's just "one of those series."
ChiSox_Sonix
What a depressing series. Sucks to be dominated by a pitching staff that has pretty much sucked all year. On the bright side, MB had another good start.

VAfan
The worst thing from something like this is that it could wake up a sleeping giant. After this series, I now expect the Tigers, not the Indians or Twins, to become our chief rivals for the division crown. Cabrera hit. Verlander pitched a gem. Rogers killed us, again. Thames hit a 3-run HR. They outpitched and outhit us. We still have a lot of factors giving us an edge. 8-game lead. More home than road games left. Etc. But we'll need to return the favor when they come to our house. In the meantime, the best way to erase this is to kick some NL ass.
whitesoxfan101
Well, it's now quite clear that a bad team is going to win the AL Central. And thanks to the embarassing play by the White Sox throughout this series, there is a chance it'll be the Detroit Tigers. If we are sitting at home in October, outside of the obvious mid and late September series, you'll need look no further than theres 3 games as to why. SoxFan562004
bad series, but they need to rebound against the Rox and Pit. Biggest concern was the lift and pull swings. At home they were doing a better job of going with pitches, but that was thrown out the window.

daa84
ozzie blew game 1....game 2 we just lost, thats gonna happen...and game 3 coulda gone either way....its a frustrating series, but for going on the road against a good team (i dont give a s*** what their record is, they are still a solid team) we coulda walked away with 2/3...frustrating to not come away with at least 1, but we didnt play as poorly as a sweep may suggest

If we win this series, it's 11 or 14 games. Even if we win today it's 10, which is why I say the last 3 days could prove to be our doom by late September, unless of course Cleveland wakes up and that is what gets us. I had so much hope going into this series that maybe we were actually a very good team, but that is a laughable notion now. WCSox
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) If we play like this and get dominated by the Pirates and Rockies, then I'll complain. Still, losses like these are always hard to take. They are. Then again, I feel better losing with Mark going 8 excellent innings than winning 11-10 with Mark and Dotel getting absolutely shelled. As long as the pitching is there, we're still in good shape.

Still, losses like these are always hard to take. It'd be much easier to take if we had struggled like this against them. To let Detroit back into the race with three just awful efforts from almost everybody outside of Mark Buehrle is inexcuseable. Even if we had won one out of three it'd have been no big deal, but we did the one thing we couldn't afford to, and that was get our ass swept. This place is nuts! Absolutely nuts! If we don't win the division it is because we suck for the next few months. It will not be because we lost 3 f***ing games to a team 11 games back in June. I mean holy hell. We could easily still lose the division but it won't be because of this week.
