maggsmaggs
Thome is amazingly bad right now. I do see us scoring tonight, at least 6, so we gotta keep them down. Get Russell warming in the pen beacause we are still in this, but Javy is another bad inning from giving us one s***ty start to the homestand. RockRaines
QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 07:03 PM) Theres no one I want less at the plate with the bags juiced than Thome....never thought id have to say that... I remember a couple of season ago when I knew if there was a RHP on the mound if I saw a fastball it would be hit hard somewhere. Now, not so much, im just hoping for a walk. EvilJester99
I seriously hope KW isn't as stubborn as last season with his faith in this team and not make a move....this team has to drive him nuts as it does most of us.

Dye is far and away the most underappreciated player on the Sox, and his career with the Sox has been nothing short of sensational.
Frankensteiner
That is one run more than I thought we'd score the rest of the way so color me pleasantly surprised. Edited June 18, 2008 by Frankensteiner
Frankensteiner
Please be clutch Crede. That grounder to the right side you hit last time wouldn't be a bad thing here.

It just kills me how people s*** on Dye. I don't get it. Sure he gets some pretty horrid ABs in a cold streak now and again, and he is slow out there in RF, but his numbers don't lie. maggsmaggs
Time to put Alexei in motion, maybe even hit and run.

He's either incredibly hot and can carry this team...or horrendous...but he's moreso been good. He has been tremendous with his years with the Sox though. Frankensteiner
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) I think it's funny when people put him in a group with Thome and Konerko among players that are hurting the Sox. While Thome is disappointing, I don't think he should be in the same tier with Paulie either. They've both been bad, but Konerko has been horrendous. At least Thome has hit a few bombs. It's insane. Even a cursory glance at his numbers should make people who complain about him shut up. Although I do think he should DH next year.
