----------
In the eyes of this city, the sox have more to gain. In a practical sense, not so much as the cubs have a 4 game lead in first and the sox 4.5.
whitesoxbrian
I really like our chances now in the series. It'll be a long way flight home for the Scrubs while we're waiting for them. I really think we can win 2/3 from this series. I think we win big tomorrow (5-7 run differencial), and I think we win Saturday- something like 9-6. Sunday- we'll lose like 4-2. mr_genius
I demand a sweep. Nothing less will do.
Balta1701
The 1999 Chicago Cubs were 8 games above .500 on June 8. On June 9, the 1999 Chicago Cubs played their first game that season against the Chicago White Sox, coming in to the series 7 games over .500. On June 14, the Chicago Cubs of that season arrived in Milwaukee on a 4 game losing streak, now only 4 games above .500. That sweep by the White Sox sent the 1999 Chicago Cubs in to an absolute tailspin, and they finished the season 67-95.
