Wanne
I almost just posted this in the Winner or Game thread...but thought he deserved his own. Toby's been absolutely ripped from head to toe on this site for the past year + to the point of almost emasculating him...and I was of the many. Well Toby...I've gotta give you a big KUDOS and THUMBS UP for bouncing back, keeping your head up believing in yourself and proving many people wrong. He's been showing what many expected when he signed originally...but really fell off the map with his injuring in ST last year. He's been a tremendous contributor and I'm sure nobody has those feelings anymore of "crap...Toby's in the lineup today...". GREAT job this year so Toby! Swingandalongonetoleft
Agreed. I'm just as happy to see him in the lineup this year as I was frustrated to see him in the lineup last year. He's done a solid job to say the least, maybe he can start seeing even more AB's.
Kalapse
I'd say people were more frustrated with Toby's shoulder and Ozzie's judgment in ST than they were angry with Toby himself. Pretty much everyone loved the signing when it happened and he is definitely a better player than his production let on last season, he just couldn't function with that torn labrum. It's nice to see him have a bounce back season after being the worst player in baseball last year.
whitesoxbrian
Actually, with AJ and Toby over .300, we honestly may have the best hitting catching duo in baseball. TOBY
Marky Mark
I just feel like I'd like him more if he didn't look like such a fatty.

In retrospect, he probably shouldn't have played last year, especially as the season went on and we were clearly a bad squad.

I disagree- Andy Gonzalez was the worst player last year, and the worst player baseball has EVER seen.

Correct. Just thinking about Andy Gonzalez makes me shutter. To this day I am still very confused as to why Bourgeois stayed at Charlotte and we had Gonzalez starting up here. greg775
Nice initial post. Congrats to Toby. Please keep it up. I wonder if he'll play against the lefty tomorrow again.
southsider2k5
This is the tandem Kenny envisioned when he signed Toby. It is nice to see them both contributing to the W's.
lostfan
I completely agree. Toby was obviously held back by his injury last year, and nobody was sure that his shoulder was healthy yet. He said it was, we didn't really believe him, but obviously he was right. The guy's been just tearing it up offensively this year. Nice to see. shipps
Congrats Toby.I must admit I had discriminated against him because he is very fat,but he is an overcomer.
